SeaWorld: "One Ocean" Going on Hiatus for a Few Months
The Orlando Sentinel recently posted an interesting SeaWorld Orlando news involving the popular "One Ocean" show.
According to the newspaper's article, "One Ocean" will be closing temporarily in early 2014 (probably on January 6, 2014) because "the theme park will be doing routine maintenance on the main performing pool at Shamu Stadium" (they may be installing the new quick-rising floor, which might then give the performers the ability to once again interact with the whales in the water during the show). This refurbishment will begin in early January 2014, and will continue throughout the Spring.
For this very reason, SeaWorld Orlando will offer a special show called "Shamu Up Close," which will take place in the Dine with Shamu area (the Dine With Shamu experience will be unavailable during that time) and it is said to include "above-water and underwater interactions and a look at training techniques." That being said, do not be concerned, as the very popular "One Ocean" show, along with the Dine With Shamu experience, will return sometime in the spring of next year.
If you plan on visiting SeaWorld early next year, make sure to check out this temporary show. One Ocean will be back.
