Walt Disney World: Refurbishments & News (Sept. '13)

Today we have quite a few reminders, news, and refurbishment updates from all four parks of the Walt Disney World Resorts (and from Downtown Disney). Make sure you are aware of what's happening:

- Magic Kingdom Park -

REFURBISHMENTS:

Jungle Cruise: Closed August 19 - September 30, 2013. Reopening on October 1, 2013

Space Mountain: Closed September 3-5; September 10-12; September 23-26, 2013.

Hundred Acre Goods shop: Closed September 4-6, 2013. Reopening on September 7, 2013.

- Epcot -

REFURBISHMENTS:

Fountain View: Closed until September 3, 2013. Reopening on September 4, 2013.

Temporary Chase Kiosk (at the American Adventure pavilion):  Reopens on September 4, 2013

Winnie The Pooh & Friends Meet-and-Greet (at the United Kingdom pavilion): Closed until October 4, 2013 (tentative date). In the meantime, characters will greet Guests near International Gateway from 1:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. daily. Please refer to the Epcot Times Guide for more specific times and details.

- Disney's Hollywood Studios -

REFURBISHMENTS:

Muppet*Vision 3D: Closed until September 2, 2013. Reopening on September 3.
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure: Closed September 3 - November 19, 2013.

SHOW CLOSURE AND REPLACEMENT:

Monsters U Homecoming: Last performance on Sunday, September 1, 2013.
Hollywood Character Dance Jam: September 2 - September 12, 2013.

MEET-AND-GREET NEWS:

Sofia the First and Jake from “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” are now visiting Guests outside “Disney Junior - Live on Stage!” at Disney's Hollywood Studios in all-new, immersive environments, allowing Guests to snap photos with their favorite Disney Junior characters against stunning backdrops.

• Sofia, the lovely princess-in-training, meets her new friends in a setting inspired by the storybook world of Enchancia.
• Guests may also choose to meet Jake, who now appears with a new pirate ship backdrop.

- Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park -

PARK ENTRANCE NEWS:

Work continues to transition all the old turnstiles into the new entry portals to support MyMagic+. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, all legacy (old) turnstiles at the Main Entrance have either already, or are in the process of, transitioning. Legacy turnstiles are still being used at the entrance by Rainforest Café, but will be transitioned within the next few months.

MEET-AND-GREET NEWS:

Bamboo will continue to greet Guests in Africa, on the path to Asia, through September 23. Like DiVine, Bamboo blurs the line between reality and fantasy for Guests as they explore Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS:

Due to expected high attendance, beginning today (Saturday, August 31, 2013) the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Princess Parade will end at Mickey's Pots Fountain rather than the Classic Carousel. The parade will resume its normal path to the Classic Carousel on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
