Hollywood Studios Update: Still Waiting... (PART 1)
"Waiting for what?", you may ask. Well, we are all waiting for something new and exciting to be announced for this park, aren't we? We are really starting to notice more and more that Disney's Hollywood Studios needs help. After a certain hour, there is very little to do in the park, as most of the offerings of the park are shows and/or thrill rides. Something needs to be done, and quickly. That being said, let us take a look at the current condition of what is already in the park. We hope you will enjoy the pictures:

First of all, some work is being done in a section of the waterfront area, right next to the big planter located at the entrance of the park (which currently has some Monsters University-themed topiaries):
Are they preparing the future new location of the hat? Hopefully! :-)

New cameras have been installed above the new turnstile-free entrances, similar to what they have done at the Magic Kingdom Park (the only difference is that their cameras are located under the train station):

If there is one thing that screams the Disney Difference. It's a cheap stage, built in front of a temporary giant hat, built in front of a really good ride.

Couldn't agree more, I have more of a problem with the stage than the hat. If the hat is supposed to be the icon of the park, WHY would you put an ugly stage right in front of it? And that's the first impression that the park makes....
ReplyDeleteIt will be pretty interesting to see the hat moved, especially to the outside of the park. At least it's better to have it there than to ruin the view down Hollywood Blvd.
ReplyDeleteI also agree about the stage ruining the view more than the hat. I really hope this doesn't continue if they decide to ditch the Chinese theater for a Carthy replica. And if Monstropolis is still on the table, they should design with some kind of Mad T Party style dance party or some similar venue for that kind of stuff.
I say combine the hat with the earful tower. Move the water tower to a better location in the park and put the sorcerer's hat on it.
