Disney Springs: Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant Closes Aug. 17

Have you ever had the chance to eat at the only Disney-operated restaurant at Downtown Disney? We are referring to the famous Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant, located right next to the Rainforest Café. If you have never eaten there, you may have one last chance to do so, as it will officially close in just seven days:

As we continue the transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs, some existing locations at Downtown Disney will close to make way for new experiences. As previously announced, the last day of operation of Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant at the Downtown Disney Marketplace will be Saturday, August 17, 2013.

Fulton's Crab House is an alternate dining option with a variety of seafood selections. Rainforest Café, Paradiso 37, and Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant, among several others at Downtown Disney, offer seafood dishes.

We do not expect any major changes to the Cap’n Jack’s Marina operation at this time.

  1. This is sad news. My wife and I ate there a couple of times during our visits to Florida. The food and service was excellent, reasonable value, and it was one of favourite DD restaurants. A bit quieter and more relaxed than the likes of the hustle and bustle of the rainforest cafe (though this we enjoyed too).

  2. This is very disappointing to hear. Cap'n Jack's has been a favorite of our family since it was opened. My grandfather would take us there and now that he is gone I take my kids. We sit and tell stories of our family visits there while enjoying the clam chowder. It is a shame that I will not be able to take my grandkids there. We just lost a piece of family history!!!
