No. 4: Although Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride closed in 1998, the star of the attraction has not been forgotten. Hardly! In fact, there are several homages throughout Magic Kingdom Park: J. Thaddeus Toad has a statue in the pet cemetery outside The Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square; on the site of the former attraction is a painting of Mr. Toad with Owl located in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh; and in the new Town Square Theater you can find a letter from Angus MacBadger of J. Thaddeus Toad Motors, Ltd., thanking Mr. M. Mouse for his purchase of a “Nifty Nineties” edition horseless carriage.

ReplyDeleteLONG LIVE THE TOAD!
ReplyDeleteAnother Toad homage at MK: Mr. Toad has his own spell card in the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game, named after his ride.
ReplyDeleteAlso, in the Pooh ride, in addition to the picture of Toad with Owl, there's also a picture of Pooh with Moley laying on the floor on the opposite side of the vehicles.
