Disney's Magical Express Testing Route from DTD
The Walt Disney World Resort will test a new route for the Disney's Magical Express next month:
As part of a test August 1-31, 2013, Guests using Disney’s Magical Express service and staying at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort can opt to leave for the airport from the Downtown Disney Area rather than their Disney resort.
Eligible Guests must have a domestic flight that departs from Orlando International Airport between 3 p.m. and midnight or an international flight between 4 p.m. and 1 a.m. on the day of check-out. This presents an additional opportunity for Guests to enjoy shopping, dining and entertainment at Downtown Disney to complete their Walt Disney World Resort experience.
Disney’s Magical Express motorcoaches depart from the center of Downtown Disney, near the Pleasure Island bridge closest to Raglan Road Pub and Restaurant. Guests must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time. Disney’s Magical Express motorcoaches may make multiple stops.
This is part of a test, and will only be available to Disney's Port Orleans Guests using Disney’s Magical Express service with specific flight times between August 1-31, 2013.
What do you think? Would this be more convenient for you (if you are among Guests who frequently use Disney's Magical Express)? One thing is sure: this could benefit Disney a lot. Why? Because you may spend more money on property while waiting for your flight! That's definitely a smart move on their part.
There is another point for Disney in all this:
ReplyDeleteIt gets departing guests out of the resort instead of asking for late checkouts while they wait for their DME busses. So, Housekeeping is allowed to do their job in a timely manner AND Disney makes a couple more bucks.
Would have used this when I started at port Orleans in December. When to downtown Disney but didn't have alot oof b time because we had to go back to the hotel
ReplyDeleteI can only see this working if they had a baggage holding area at DTD as I don't fancy taking my cases round the restaurants and shops.
