Islands of Adventure: Jurassic Park Games Confirmed
One of the rumors shared by Orlando United has finally been officially confirmed by a new permit that was recently filed by the Universal Orlando Resort: new midway games are indeed coming to the Jurassic Park themed area of Islands of Adventure. According to the rumor, the existing midway games of the Lost Continent should soon be removed to open up the area a little more (it is a bit congested over there). Here's the permit:

These new games are supposed to be just the beginning of a much larger project involving this particular land. A new family coaster is among the new additions that should come later. We will keep you up-to-date.
Is there really a need for these games?
ReplyDeleteAt least the simpsons ones fit with the theme of the area. Why would there be carnival games in an island ruled by dinosaurs?
Apparently John Hammond spared TOO much expense and is now trying to squeeze a few extra bucks from tourists. Boo. (Seriously though, the carnival games cheapen whatever area they are in, even if they are correctly themed to the land. We don't pay that kind of money to have cheap games thrown at us. I've always disliked that about Universal Parks)

ReplyDeleteMike is not saying that Universal is the only one who puts midway games in their parks, instead, he means that Universal is the one that overkills the concept compared to Disney.
These games are probably a replacement for the games that'll leave the Mythos area to make way for Potter.
ReplyDeleteBut it's beyond me why people pay good money to get into a park to play silly game, if it's the stuff at Universal, Disney or Sea World. But they do so they put them in there.
The games are a weird idea...unless, there are games at Jurassic Park in the new movie because Jurassic Park is supposedly going to be a successful theme park. Or at least from what I heard.
