Macaws Flying Outside the Flights of Wonder Theater
A minor but interesting update regarding one of Disney’s Animal Kingdom animal shows:
"The Flights of Wonder team is now training two pairs of macaws (scarlet and blue-throated) to fly outside the Flights of Wonder theater. Guests may see these flights from 8-9:30 a.m. and noon-1 p.m. During initial training, the birds will do short pre-show flights in the area in front of the Flights of Wonder theater, building up in frequency to several flights per day before shows. The flights also will build up in length, with the birds eventually flying from the area in front of the theater to a perch (yet to be built) near the drums across from Tamu Tamu Refreshments."
Sounds like something we'd like to see next time we visit to the park. Anything new at Animal Kingdom is great.
Sounds similar to the macaw flights at Discovery Cove, where two macaws fly from one side of the park (closer to the entrance) to the far side (dolphin pools beach area). Very neat addition.
