Next Gen: PIN Now Required for Every Transaction
As you will already know, the Walt Disney World Resort recently rolled out new machines that Guests can use to pay at select dining and shopping locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. These machines were added (and are still being added) as part of the huge Next-Generation project that is being rolled out in phases.
With this new system, Guests didn't need to sign any receipts any longer; in case they had a receipt of more than $50.00 they just needed to enter a PIN that they created once they checked-in at their Disney Hotel. As of today, this has changed. Guests will need to enter their pin for every single transaction they make using their "Key to the World" card. In fact, Disney recently stated that "all touch to pay transactions will [now] require Guests to enter a PIN to complete transactions until notified otherwise."
What do you think? In your opinion, will entering a PIN slow down this process? Or do you feel that this can be another layer of security, to avoid having to deal with people making purchases with another person's card?
I think it also needs to use your thumb print as well as I be so worried about losing this band or having it robbed off me.
ReplyDeleteIn the UK, PIN has been the way to go for a few years now. Takes about the same time as a signature.
