Magic Kingdom Update: Work Not Stopping (PART 1)

The seven dwarfs have been really hard at work, especially in the last few weeks, as they have been busy installing even more coaster track pieces so that they can use their mine carts to look for more gems inside the mountain. We will visit them later during this new Magic Kingdom update, but first of all we need to check out some other areas of the park. As always, we hope you will enjoy this extensive photo-report. Let's start:

Welcome to the Magic Kingd... What? Is the park closed for construction today?:

Oh, no, it's just a section of the entrance area walled-off to install more of the new turnstile-free entrances:

For now, this is the only section with no turnstiles:

We have to say that it look really nice:

...but we cannot use it yet, as we are not staying at a Disney Resort:

The walls from the other side. They take up a lot of space:

Officially entering the park:

We were surprised to see all the decorations still up (these photos were taken just yesterday afternoon), but just read on another site, that most decorations were all removed tonight! That's really fast:

The park was not busy. It was great after having had to deal with crazy crowds in the past few weeks:

The Main Street Philharmagic Philharmonic Orchestra:

Tarps on Main Street U.S.A. Again:

Well, at least it is nice to see that they really care about the appearance of these themed buildings. That's great:

The only thing is that it looks like Main Street has to have some sort of tarps most months of the year now:

Ah, what a gorgeous castle we have. It may not be as beautiful as Disneyland Paris', but it is certainly one of the better ones, and I am sure many of our Readers agree with that:

Another wonderful area:

Time to move over to Adventureland:

Work on the Adventureland Veranda continues:

The work walls have actually been extended since our last visit:

Is a new themed meet-and-greet area coming? Or is it just a major refurbishment?:

Ariel used to meet here before her new Grotto opened in the New Fantasyland:

More work taking place on the other side of the building:

What a gorgeous day (oh, by the way, it was a beautiful 81 degrees. In January. We love this weather.)!:

Sad note: the camel located in front of The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is again not moving its head:

  3. I've heard from multiple sources that a Journey to the Center of the Earth ride may be coming to Animal Kingdom instead of Avatar..Don't know how true the sources are though

  6. While Paris' castle is beautiful, I'd say WDW's is slightly better. Maybe I am biased though. Paris' is certainly second. Its a shame that Tokyo and Hong Kong did not receive original castle designs.

How are they going to prevent people from just walking through the exit to the park without the turnstiles. It seems like people will try to enter through there since there is not barricade.
