Universal Studios Update: A December Day (PART 4)
Welcome to part 4 of this new Universal Studios update (PART 3 can be found HERE).
We will now complete our tour of the park by continuing to check out the Simpsons area:
More and more walls:
As you can see, the interior of the restaurant has been completely gutted:
On the other side:
Some great behind-the-walls photos from this side:
One last look at this construction area from the opposite side of the lagoon:

More Transformers, of course...
This concludes our latest Universal Studios Florida photo-report. As always, we thank you for reading, but we also want to remind that we really put a lot of effort in putting together these very large updates (it can take us up to three hours for an update like this one. There is a lot more involved than just pasting photos and writing a few words), so you can be sure that we would appreciate your contributions. There are many ways you can do that, of course. For example, we have "Donate" button located on the top of our sidebar, where you can enter any amount you would like to donate, to show us how much you appreciate our hard work. That said, there are also other ways to thank us. Remember that we love hearing your opinions, so post any comment you would like, just to start a friendly conversation or to know more about a certain subject. In addition to that, remember to visit our sponsors. A one-second click can contribute to our site! Thank you very, very much.
Is there any word how long all this construction is going to take? It seems to be going pretty slowly- especially the Amityville area.
ReplyDeleteTransformers and Simpsons should be open early Summer 2013. Harry Potter seems to be Mid-Late 2014.
ReplyDeleteConstruction is actually moving along pretty quickly considering this time last year Jaws was still open. Transformers especially which will have gone from full demo to operational E-ticket in 1 year.
You really think Potter could be open by mid 2014? If I had to guess, I would probably say summer 2015.
ReplyDeleteAnything new with MIB?
ReplyDeleteAnother great update. Thank you from the UK :)
ReplyDeleteYou wanna see slow then check out the speed there building Alton Towers coaster. They started land clearing in April.
ReplyDeleteWhen can we actually get an announcement and renderings for the Harry Potter expansion? They are well into the construction phase at this point, and nothing.
ReplyDeleteDo you really think Transformers will be E-ticket?
ReplyDeleteConsidering how long it took for WWOHP to be completed at Islands of Adventure I would not expect to see this addition any time soon. Years of delays for that because J.K. Rowling likes to make her design perfect and all.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU FOR THIS UPDATE!! Long awaited for glad i can count on your site to stay updated even though i live 2 1/2 hours away. I believe potter will be opening Januarary 2015 With simpsons area transformers making up for that, while i also predict this summer we should see some focus beggining on the kiddie ET area.
ReplyDeleteSavo - while this is somewhat off post, the Alton Towers coaster construction appeared slow as AT intended to do much of their construction while they were closed in the winter months. they had always intended a March 2013 opening. It had been their intention to keep most of the details of this new coaster secret.
ReplyDeleteHowever that all disappeared when the planning applications became public!
AT have still not officially revealed details of the "first of its kind" elements yet though most internet forums have reached the same conclusions
2nd anon: I agree that the lack of official announcement is becoming embarrassing though it is becoming sadly common at Universal - everyone knew about Transformers long before the official announcement
ReplyDeleteeveryone also knows about potterworld pt2 and what attractions to expect - seemingly confirmed by otpn who i think were first to show photographic evidence of the roller coaster track (top work!!)
i can partly agree with the last anon. i think J K Rowling may be having some influence over the announcement date though i doubt it can be anything to do with her say on design. wwohp at IoA was announced long before construction got remotely near the stage the studios construction is already at
