Magic Kingdom Update: Pirates Additions (PART 1)

Good afternoon OTPN Readers! Welcome to a new Magic Kingdom photo-report. Today we will take a look at five of the six lands of the park (a separate Fantasyland photo-update will be posted very soon). Let's start by getting on the monorail to get to the park:

Here's our train. Yes, it seems fast... but it's not. The transportation system of the resort is not really that great:

Some work (related to Next-Gen) is being done on both sides of the Magic Kingdom entrance:

Oh, and there are new directional signs too!:

Here we are:

The beautiful Main Street U.S.A. never loses its charm:

The clouds didn't promise anything good coming in our way...

The projectors for the new "Celebrate the Magic" show have been moved further back:

It is great to see those un-themed projectors out of sight:

The ones on the other side are just barely visible from a distance:

What's going on here, by the way?:

The central hub, also known as the heart of the Magic Kingdom Park:

Come on! How can people not feel good when seeing this scenery?:

Moving on to Adventureland:

The former Shrunken Ned's Junior Jungle Boats area is now a stroller parking:

It looks much better than before:

Rumors say that there will soon be new interactive elements coming out of the water next to this area...

Another (much better) rumor said that the Jungle Cruise attraction will be expanded and the boats would go around the Swiss Family Treehouse:

Unfortunately, this is never going to happen unless they drastically modify the bridge of the Treehouse:

We will now take a tour inside Pirates of the Caribbean, where we will review the changes that have been applied around the attraction's queue in the past few months (more will come very soon, of course):

These are brand-new barrels:

A look at the new area where the two queues can merge together:

  1. I'm kind of disappointed about Shrunken Ned's. I have found memories of that from when I went as a kid back in the 80's.

  4. Your OTPN tag is a little overpowering on these pics, more transparent might help. Can't go wrong with the Star Wars font.
    Thanks for the update
