Crane Spotted Inside Jurassic Park at Universal's IOA
Today we will be sharing a very interesting rumor with our readers, as it looks like the Universal Orlando Resort may be ready to start working on yet another new project (be aware that it strictly a rumor):
Many websites around the internet have been spreading rumors about another possible new addition coming to Universal's Islands of Adventure, which should open before the new London-themed area over at its sister park, Universal Studios Florida. Among the rumored locations there is Seuss landing and Jurassic Park. Well, during our last outing in the park (yesterday), we noticed something new looming behind the Terrace. It was a huge crane, which definitely didn't look like it was used in the construction of the Cabana Bay Beach Resort:
As you can see, it is quite tall, and it looks like it is located in the empty lot behind the Thunder Falls Terrace:
A closer view of the crane:
As we said before, this should not be the crane used for the Cabana Bay Beach Resort construction, as it would not be visible from the park:
A view of the crane from Toon Lagoon:
Of course, these photos were taken during the evening hours of the day, so the silhouette of the crane may have been... a dinosaur. It was Jurassic Park, so that would not be surprising. Who knows...
As we stated at the beginning of this post, this is only wishful thinking for now, but it may soon turn out to be something important... As always, we suggest you continue to stay tuned as we will keep you up-to-date on this subject. Also, if you know something more and would like to share it with us, feel free to post comments!
What's the rumor?
ReplyDeleteEther a Lorax dark ride or a Mt Crumpit Coaster...
ReplyDeleteI also would like to know what the rumors are.
ReplyDeleteThe suggestions above would look a bit out of place in JP...
I tried doing a search and checking several sites. The only thing I could find was a grinch coaster. However one site did talk about a jp car ride sort of like what the movie was. It just seems like that would be too expensive and take up too much room. I guess we will have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of IOA additions, Universal Creative has supposedly settled on new attractions in either Seuss Landing or Jurassic Park.
ReplyDeleteThe JP ride is rumored to be a mine train coaster that would be themed to amber mines (where they get the dino DNA) and would be located where the not-in-use Triceratops Encounter walkthrough currently is.
The Seuss ride had been rumored as a Matterhorn-like Grinch coaster that would be themed to his lair in Mt Crumpit. However due to the financial success of the recent Lorax film, executives are said to be pushing for a Lorax dark ride. In any case, a Seuss addition would be located in the empty lot behind One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.
Only ONE of these three ride concepts will get the official greenlight from Uni, with the Lorax dark ride apparently the frontrunner.
Hope that explanation helped!
Wow.
ReplyDeleteOnly in my dreams/best case scenario did I want Universal to prep an IOA E-ticket to help balance out the extreme focus on the Studio side. Colour me thoroughly impressed and satiated with their effort - it's already exceeding what I thought was realistic effort!
Micechat was reporting 1.5 billion has been earmarked for the next ten years and under half is for Transformers/HP, so I certainly expect more great things to come!
I heard they where going to re theme the current cartoon erea into, wait for it, Lord of the Rings/The Hobit.
ReplyDeleteOr was that wissfull thinking?
I wish it's not a JP coaster (the park has enough coasters) and another darkride in Suess???
Wish they would make the christmas musical in Suess permanent. Enter a whoville miniland with a theatre that plays the show and has a m&g with the Grinch.
No Crane there yesterday evening... it may have just been used to replace bearings or other equipment for JP... or it has been moved and I didnt see it
