Universal Studios Update: New Waterfront (PART 2)
Welcome to part 2 of this latest look around Universal Studios Florida (PART 1 can be found here).
It is now time to continue strolling along the path filled with walls, which was formerly a lively area with guests playing countless of midway games. Yes, we are now going through what was formerly the kingdom of Bruce the shark - the once-charming Amity Village:
This ugliness is still here! Be gone! Back, back, over the falls!:
The view of the former Amity Village from the other side:
Behind the walls:
The central lagoon:
Another great panoramic shot (FULL-SIZE)
Yet another panoramic view of the good ole Amity (FULL-SIZE)
Some more shots of the new waterfront:
This barge is perfectly aligned to the new waterfront area, which will open in 2014. This confirms two things: the barges will stay for a long time (and that's really good to hear), and the new waterfront will provide an excellent view of the nighttime spectacular:
Let's now take a look at the future midway games in the Simpsons Ride queue area:
Notice the new line that has been drawn in the back. It looks like a section of the queue will remain:
Lots of work being done in the ground:
On the other side:
Some new, mysterious work is being done near the Central park area:
It looks like it may become a new permanent meet-and-greet:
They have even started to work on the foundations of this new area:
It is a very small area. Despite that, it is very interesting to see all these projects taking place at once!!:
On to the Kidzone (which will also soon receive some love, according to many rumors):
The Woody Woodpecker statue is finally back:
It looks great:
Is something going on in the Gardens of Allah? Maybe, maybe not:
This sign is quite interesting, though, as most of the area always receives minor cosmetic work, but seldom have we seen a sign like this one:
And we end with another look at the new gate that was recently built to accommodate the new parade:
And this should be all, at least for now. See you real soon with a new Magic Kingdom update, a CityWalk photo-report, and an unusual LEGOLAND picture-tour. Stay tuned!
Maybe that will be the new spot for the BTTF train?
ReplyDeleteWas that a Disney ride quote I saw? lol. Love it

ReplyDeleteWith Universal Doing All This Work DHS Should Be Getting Some Work Done Too!
ReplyDeleteHow can they stop you from taking pictures above the wall, as long as no part of you is over it's borders? "Sorry, we don't allow pictures of construction.". :)
