New Canopy Erected in Front of the Seas Pavilion
Despite being considered one of the most neglected theme parks in Central Florida, Epcot is constantly receiving minor new additions every single month. You can notice this by checking out our constant in-park updates. Today, though, we will take a look at only a few of these new additions, all of which have been installed/added around "The Seas with Nemo & Friends" pavilion. Let's check them out:
First of all, a brand-new canopy has been installed right in front of the entrance to the pavilion:
As you can see, this has been installed for two reasons: to provide shade to cast members greeting guests (this replaces a very temporary-looking umbrella) and to allow for the installation of new signs. One will state "Stand-By Entrance," while the other will say "FASTPASS Entrance." Yep, it's like (pardon the pun) pouring water into the ocean (i.e. an absolutely useless move):
Here you are more photos of the canopy, which doesn't look that bad to us. Actually, it is not even done yet:
These walls are hiding the new sliding doors that will be the gateway to the new FASTPASS queue:
Behind the walls:
Here's a peek at the mural guests will see in the new FASTPASS queue (which is nothing spectacular):
In the waiting area for the Turtle Talk with Crush show, one of the exhibits is currently being refurbished:
Toward the exit of the pavilion, we noticed this press-a-penny machine. It looks new to us, but we are not sure. Nothing major, but still something we thought would be nice to share:
On a second thought, this may not be new. Oh well!
We will soon have a quite large, complete Epcot update. Stay tuned, and feel free to post your comments and thoughts regarding these additions to the pavilion.
It would decrease wait times, and simplify things overall if TDO just did away with FastPass. Great update as always!
ReplyDeleteThe term TDO is so obnoxious. WDW would not be worth visiting without fast pass.
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, you are both incorrect. FastPass provides a means to enjoy the most popular attractions without having to wait in line. And TDO is not a term, it's an acronym. It stands for Team Disney Orlando, which I suppose is a term, but not one most people are familiar with.
ReplyDeletePersonally I love faspass & I wouldnt visit WDW without it. It allows me to enjoy my favourite rides with none of the wait. What's wrong with that?!
ReplyDeleteThanx again for the great photo updates guys :)
I've never heard the term TDO used in a positive context. It's mainly used by obsessive anti-fans to bash WDW. Using that term is a dead giveway that you have an agenda. Bashing something that everyone else gets a lot of utility from, Fastpass, is another tip off.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why TDO is a bad word, but I don't live in Florida so perhaps it's a local thing. From my perspective, TDO is just an office building for Disney World, located behind Downtown Disney. It is home to Finance, Accounting, Business Insight & Improvement, and Legal departments. Not sure what the big deal is.
ReplyDeleteTDO is in no way a term meant to bash the greatness that is the spirit and whole of Walt Disney World. Even Disney fans realize this. TDO is "Team Disney Orlando". The executives and pencil pushers that dictate what experiences are allowed and financed for the parks we all so adore. The reason TDO has a negative connotation is because TDO is the reason for some of the problems facing WDW. TDO is the reason Pleasure Island closed down and has remained vacant. TDO is the reason why funds are being allocated to Disney Vacation Clubs and more hotels instead of refurbing the existing ones, and hardly any new attractions across the resort.
ReplyDeleteI say this a MASSIVE Disney fan. Imagineering is chomping at the bit to make amazingly new experiences within the parks. TDO simply isn't handing over the necessary money to let WDI work their magic. And that is a travesty. WDW is a wonderful place, but is the executives who have it ingrained in their minds that paying for the bare minimum will keep the magic alive.
