LEGOLAND Florida Update: When it Rains... (Part 2)
Let's now continue to check out the park during a rainy afternoon (PART 1 can be found here):
Beautiful:
It looks like we are alone in the park:
More new pirate-themed banners have been installed in both amphitheaters overlooking Lake Eloise:
LEGOLAND is really pushing its renovated water-ski show. We wanted to see it, but... you know!:
Next time!:
New themed fence around the lake:
It even has some great LEGO models! Talk about attention to details:
Nice touch:
An empty LEGO Technic area:
Moving to the other side of the park:
The Land of Adventure is next:
Nope... nobody seems to be here either:
Nobody was seen around LEGO Kingdoms:
The Dragon coaster was definitely closed:
Merlin's Challenge was open. No riders, though:
A look around the rest of the LEGO Kingdoms area:
Where's everybody?:
The Castle Burger location was open. Despite this, nobody was seated outside eating, of course:
DUPLO Land:
By the way, the strange "three-way" palm tree has been cut! Such a sad day for LEGOLAND!
BEFORE:
NOW:
And this concludes our update. Thanks for reading, and remember to post your comments and opinions!
The lake is named "Eloise." Also, it looks like you picked a good day with few crowds. Lastly, good catch on that palm. Wow, I'm surprised they cut it rather than relocate it. What a shame...
ReplyDeleteBy any chance, did OTPN visit the park this past Monday? Because if so I was there! My group and I were one of the resisting guests - we bravely stayed until 8PM.
ReplyDeleteI did keep a sharp look-out this weekend when I took a visit to all four Disney parks and Legoland, just in case I caught someone photographing something ubiquitous like a themed object or the work going on behind the New Fantasyland construction walls. I would have loved to see OTPN in action! :)
I thought this park was doing very well but it looks empty. Whats going on? Prices to steep, are all parks empty in Florida or do tourists think they melt?
ReplyDeletei'm sure i read somewhere (probably here) that mid afternoon was peak time for the waterpark - i wonder how many people were there?
ReplyDeleteI'm aware that Legoland copes with crowds better than maybe any other theme park but, with the exception of your opening day report, i don't think I've ever seen an update where Legoland looked remotely crowded.
Legoland claim that attendances are exceeding forecasts and that they are very happy with the park's performance but to me, it looks as if they are either telling a lie or set their expectations outrageously low. there appears to be regular ticket deals available in the uk.
i'd be interested to hear the views of the administrators (or any other regular legoland visitor) with regards to how you feel the park is performing
This was obviously on a weekday. Go on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday (or when they have groups) and it's crowded.
ReplyDeleteI think they kept their expectations very low. That, and the fact that they bought Cypress Gardens for a SONG means that you don't have to worry about it closing anytime soon. Even if the crowds are constantly light. Hey, enjoy the light crowds, you won't see that at Disney or Universal.
