Fantasyland Forest Update: Great Progress (PART 3)

Welcome to the final part of this new Fantasyland update (PART 2 can be found here).

This time we are going to check out what's new in Storybook Circus:

We can finally say that Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom has got the best Dumbo themed area ever created. Just take a look at the entrance:

Also, the new photo-opportunity located in front of the new tent has been unveiled:

It looks quite nice:

Some plants were placed around the base of Dumbo and in front of the stairs, indicating that the area is not open to the public yet:

In the background there's now a very nice (fake) red curtain:

Light fixture:

Behind Dumbo we also find a big mural depicting people cheering for Dumbo. Let's take a close look:

Noticed anything? Yes, 90% of the people depicted are actually... clones! Take a look at this guy for example:

He's also found on the other side of the mural... even multiple times!:

Here he has a hat:

This nice elderly lady also has clones:

There she is on the other side (also next to the Chinese guy):

Funny, isn't it? We definitely love to search for small details like these ones!

Time to get inside the interactive queue:

There's now a new sign that tells guests if FASTPASSes for Dumbo are available (they are still given out next to Mickey's Philharmagic):

Some new signs have been attached in the outdoor portion of Dumbo's queue:

They look "okay" from the front:

But they are horrible when seen from the other side:

New sign welcoming us into the indoor queue:

Another new sign explains how this new type of queue works:

Let's ride!:

We love Florida, and we are glad it is now featured on the base of both of the Dumbo carousels

Unfortunately, taking photos from Dumbo is not easy any longer, due to the new trees:

A blurry photo of the ship in front of Prince Eric's Castle:

Moving on, we noticed that the third tent has already been partially covered:

A closer look at the tent:

Casey Jr. Splash 'n' Soak Station:

The new cart was closed due to rain:

As we were walking, we saw a group of Imagineers walking around Storybook Circus:

Then, they disappeared behind the walls, as they checked out the rest of the new Fantasyland:

Before we end this update, we want to see if you, our readers, remember our past updates. For example, when the refurbished "Barnstormer" family coaster re-opened, we reported that there is a quite clever hidden name in the back of the ride's new sign. What does it refer to? Here you are a couple of photos of it:

Be sure to submit your guesses in the comments section of this post!

Phew! We made it! This photo-update is actually over, but look forward to post a new Islands of Adventure update in the near future. We will also have a new LEGOLAND update coming in the next few weeks.

Thank you for reading, and remember to check back here on OTPN for daily photo-updates! See ya' real soon!

  1. it is a tribute to Wiseacre Farms, where the roller coaster was located in Toon Town. :) Nice update! We LOVED the indoor Dumbo queue.

  2. Wiseacre Farms!

I'm glad they added landscaping between Dumbo and the Tomorrowland Speedway. The trees help cover up the theming clash.

  4. Is it just me or does the "old" Fantasyland like a concrete jungle now. It's stroller park paradise I know but it looks ugly. The "new" Fantasyland looks much better but there is no place for all those strollers. The attractions (only the mermaid ride for now) is small comparred to It's a small world and the Mine coaster will have a capacity that is below Splash mountain. It looks nice and is a pricy expansion but no E ticket and only 2 "new" rides and a lot of shops and restaurants...
But a great photo update, thank you very much.

  6. Thanks for the great update on Fantasyland! It's really shaping up. I worked in Fantasyland in the Fall of 2004, and love reading updates. Someone did mention the "concrete jungle" at the Old Fantasyland. There was a stroller parking lot at the old Skyway station that is now blocked off by construction walls. Strollers were always an issue in the land.

  7. Anonymous #3 has no clue as to what an E-ticket type attraction is. The two rides being built are classic examples of one.

  8. The 2 new rides are definitely NOT E-tickets. Unless you think they will be on the same level as Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Splash and ToT. Which they definitely won't.

  9. @simmy25 7 dwarfs Might Not Be as thrilling as thunder mountain, but it will blow it away with technology. First Off the actual cars are state of the art. Never mind the AA figures that will be in the mine. And By The Way Little Mermaid is already an E-Ticket at DCA.

  10. Yup Definitely Wise Acres Farm. It's the same Font as on the original sign for the ride.

  11. Personally I wouldn't consider any of the new Fantasyland attractions as E-tickets, although I can't wait to ride them!
