"Celebrate the Magic" Nighttime Show Coming to MK
A new nighttime show is coming to the Magic Kingdom Park! It will be visually similar to the current "The Magic, the Memories, and You" projection show, but it will certainly continue to dazzle the park's Guests using new visual effect. Here you are more information about this new show, from the Disney Parks Blog (NOTE: this new projection show will NOT replace "Wishes - A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams." It will take place before the aforementioned fireworks show and will complement it):

‘Celebrate the Magic’ Nighttime Show Coming to Magic Kingdom Park
Beginning this November, guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park will be able to enjoy a new nighttime projection show on Cinderella Castle. “Celebrate the Magic” will incorporate favorite elements from the current show, “The Magic, The Memories and You!,” with all-new music, storytelling and special effects.
“‘Celebrate the Magic’ takes us on a journey to the heart of the most beloved Disney stories and characters,” said Show Director Katy Harris. “This amazing show will magically transform Cinderella Castle with spectacular projection effects, choreographed to a new music soundtrack. The show will be full of emotion and storytelling, proving that, with imagination and magic in our hearts, anything is possible.”
“The Magic, The Memories and You!” will be presented for the last time on Labor Day, September 3, at both Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland park. While “Celebrate the Magic” will be exclusive to Magic Kingdom Park, Disneyland Resort guests can look forward to the return of “it’s a small world” holiday later this year, as well as the debut of a new live entertainment experience in the Fantasyland Theatre, opening in summer 2013.

Well, we are definitely excited about this new nighttime show, especially since we love the current projection show. We are also very glad to see that this will be a spectacular that will be exclusive to the Magic Kingdom Park. Finally something that should not be cloned (we may be talking way too soon...). Anyway, what are your first impressions? Did you get the chance to see "The Magic, the Memories, and You"? If so, did you enjoy it? What improvements are you expecting with this new version of the show? Share your thoughts with us!
I will be sad, I loved Magic the Memories and you, but everything changes I guess, I hope this is just as good
ReplyDeleteVery Good News, But Disney Should Focus on A Nighttime Show For AK (The Park That Doesn't have One Yet!)
ReplyDeleteAgreed, We Need Animal Kingdom To Get A Nighttime Show!
ReplyDeleteGlad They Are Changing It, really didn't like the pictures idea
ReplyDeleteI would to see some sort of show like this on spaceship earth in EPCOT!
ReplyDeleteCelebrate The Magic+ Epcot= EPIC
Animal Kingdom can't use fireworks because of the animals, and there really isn't a place to do a water show (such as World of Color at Disneyland).
ReplyDeleteAs for Epcot, rumor is that Illuminations will be updated and I completely agree with Chris: Projection technology is so good now they could augment a new fireworks show with spectacular projected visuals, and hopefully they update the currently pathetic fountains that today serve almost no purpose.
Discovery River, Across From Expedition Everest Is Pretty Big, World Of Color Can Fit In There!

ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Illuminations' fountains are very quaint. They need larger more impressive fountains (e.g. the ones used in World of Color or Tokyo's Fantasmic!).
Although that portion of Discovery River is fairly large for a World of Color platform, the real concern would be the the location of the viewing area and the bottleneck traffic it will create around the area, considering its next to a popular attraction.
BTW, the second one was for Matt :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see something in WDW (in any park) that's similar in concept to Dreams from DLP. i saw dreams a few weeks ago, and i was stunned. it was by far the most amazing (and definitely the cleverest) night time show that i've seen at any park. the first time i saw it, i stood there mouth open in amazement through the whole thing haha (and i noticed that many others were doing the same, so it didnt look quite so silly)
ReplyDeleteI don't think its just fireworks that are a concern for the animals if AK ever got a night time show - I believe the glow from projections and lasers may affect the animals welfare too.
ReplyDeleteIts an excuse i've heard from several CMs but i've no idea of any science that backs these claims so i don't know if this is actually true
I checked out Katy Harris on Linked In. Looks like she's coming from DLP and was the Associate Director for Disney Dreams. They really had a handle on incorperating the projections with live fireworks and fountains. I'll start getting really excited if we start seeing some work happening in the moat.
