Universal Studios Update: SS44, Amity & More - Part 2
Here we are on part 2 of our newest Universal Studios update (PART 1 can be found here).
Let us now take a look around the construction site that now replaces the former Amity Harbor:
As you can see, Universal is modifying the shoreline of the area, making it more uniform:
Check out this panoramic view of the area (CLICK HERE for the full-size image):
Going through Amity:
A look from the other side:
By the way, there are a lot of new laser boxes around the lagoon:
Moving over to The Simpsons Ride, we saw something that really surprised us:
It looks like Universal has changed "his" mind and decided not to build the midway games anymore:
All the walls that were installed have disappeared:
All this work... for nothing?:
Work has also been done on the other side:
In the Kidzone area, we noticed that a "people-dryer" has been moved next to Curios George's water play area. Smart move, in our opinion:
Nothing going on near the former Hard Rock Cafe' location:
Characters' Bus:

Hopefully Universal will do something about this beautiful unused building:
And this concludes this photo-update. Thank you very much for reading!

I believe they are still putting the games at the Simpsons. There was no reason to remove the front fencing and signs unless they are planning something. The way it was set up before players would have to stand out in the sun. I believe they are planning something more permanent with the games set back a bit more so players will be in the shade. Thats why they took front fencing away.
ReplyDeleteIdk, I think they might have changed their mind because of traffic control. The games at IOA in Toon Lagoon are not in the shade.
ReplyDeleteI thought the midway games in front of the Simpsons would have been a great idea! I mean, they have(had?) fake ones at the front to make it seem like a carnival...real ones would make it even more immersive!
ReplyDeleteThey wouldn't have taken down the signs and front railing unless they were adding something. I think they were originally planning a quick fix, but decided on a more elaborate plan. they could of just taken the walls installed but instead took down more.
ReplyDeleteI used to work at Universal for Employee Relations and that last building you are referring to houses a number of offices for the resort. It's a pretty cool feeling to work in the middle of the action and not many people not know whats going on in there. I have caught many of couples making out in our "doorways". :)
