Disney's Art of Animation Resort - Now Open

Thursday, May 31, 2012 marked the grand opening of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort connects Guests to the stories and characters they’ve come to cherish from some of their favorite Walt Disney and Disney•Pixar films with four distinct wings inspired by favorites Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid.

Landscape of Flavors, the food court at the resort, features five unique shops for Guests to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner and includes offerings such as fresh smoothies, hand-scooped gelato and a Mongolian grill.

The Finding Nemo courtyard features the Big Blue Pool, the largest pool at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, along with The Schoolyard Sprayground wet play area and the Righteous Reef Playground.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is designed with families in mind. The new resort will offer 1,120 family suites, which include added space and sleeping accommodations for up to six people. The resort will include 864 value guest rooms.

Inside the Finding Nemo suites, the décor evokes the characters, scenes and settings from the film, including coral shaped chairs, bubble ceiling lights and a shark-friendly submarine for a bathroom.

The other three themes for the resort will open in phases with Cars June 18; The Lion King August 10; and The Little Mermaid September 15.

We wil head to the resort very soon! Having already seen a lot of photos of it, I can tell you that it is definitely one of the best-looking value resorts. We can't wait to see it!
