Beastly Bazaar Closing to Make Way for New M&G

A new indoor meet-and-greet experience will come to Disney's Animal Kingdom later this fall. This new indoor, air-conditioned character location will open in the Discovery Island area  and will replace the Beastly Bazaar, a merchandise location on the island, which will close permanently on August 12, 2012 and will be completely re-themed (Disney has stated that "the majority of the products sold at Beastly Bazaar are available for purchase in other merchandise locations throughout the park" and that "The bulk candy offering currently in this location will be relocated to Chester and Hester’s in Dinoland U.S.A.).

For this reason, we have decided to share some photos of the Beastly Bazaar so that, when the project will be completed, we will be able to compare the look of the store with the appearance of the new meet-and-greet:

As a reminder, the lineup of the characters that will meet guests in this location are still unknown. When new information will be released, you can be sure that we will post them here. Stay tuned.

  1. It's great they put some much needed life in a part of AK I have only visited once and was so underwelming. I hope we can meet tigers, panda's and other anymals but I'm afraid it will be another Disney character meet and greet.

  3. OK, I'm usually the first to complain about the number of shops that Disney builds. But not another meet-and-greet. No. For all that's holy, no.

I am constantly reminded of that Universal commercial in which the little girl states - "If I ever see another princess, I'm gonna hurl".

  4. I feel indifferent about this. There are plenty of shops in the park. When I get Avatar, I'll be happy. When I get a fixed yeti, I'll be even happier.
