Disney's Hollywood Studios: Goodbye Drew Carey (?)
Disney's Hollywood Studios has recently released a new park map which looks almost exactly as the previous one... even though it does include a small - but important - detail. Indeed, the seasonal attraction known as "Sounds Dangerous - Starring Drew Carey" is completely gone, replaced by a more generic "ABC Sound Studios." Here's the park map (right-click on it and open in a new window to view the full-size photo):
A closer view for those who can't see the full-size park map:
That Drew Carey's attraction was going to leave the park is not something unexpected, as we reported this news a few months ago. The question that comes up at this point is: "Will Disney leave that Soundstage empty, or will there be something new in the near future?" In addition to that, why does the park map still refer to the ABC Sound Studios as being a seasonal attraction? Does that mean that Drew Carey may occasionally still come back to haunt us? We will let you draw any possible conclusion.
If you remember for years, the Wonders of Life Pavilion was "seasonal" until Disney finally emptied it of its attractions and made it the site of where they now hold seminars and talks for its guests during events. I think to Disney, seasonal just means they will use it to help eat crowds until they can figure out what to do with it.
ReplyDeleteFor the sound building, they have been using it for Jedi Training Academy sign ups. It would be cool if they could turn it into something pertaining to Star Tours/Star Wars permanently.
For the star wars weekends they hv turned it into a star wars booth where they take photos and turn it onto a carbonate figure
ReplyDeleteWhy can't they just have a new sound stage attraction open there. How about a Tron sound stage.
ReplyDeleteIt´s sad to see that Disney doens´t care about the fact that the Studios are just a half day park with lots of old shows and horrible ´attractions´. Just kill the show off and put something Indy or Star Wars in there. They have 2 amazing licenses and do almost nothing with them.
