All Walt Disney World Resorts will soon receive an expanded cable service:

Expanded Cable Options in All Disney Resorts

Starting March 13, Guests of Walt Disney World Resort hotels will receive expanded cable channel options on their in-room televisions. Below is the scheduled expanded cable timeline for each resort hotel:
  • March 13: Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts

  • April 24: Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • April 26: Disney’s Polynesian Resort
  • May 1: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • May 3: Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort
  • May 8: Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Please note: Dates subject to change based on any unforeseen technology issues that could occur.
  • Local affiliate channels (ABC, NBC, etc.) and Disney resort hotel-specific channels will still be available to Guests. Some of the new channels include Fox News, Bravo, AMC, National Geographic, TBS, TNT, Travel Channel, WE tv, Syfy, Discovery, Bio, HGTV, TLC, History, Food Network and TV Land.
  • Sometime during 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on the day that the resort hotel is scheduled to move to the new lineup, there will be a brief cable television outage at the applicable resort hotel (lasting approximately 10-20 minutes). After that time, Guests will be able to enjoy the additional cable options.
  • Guests may view all of their expanded cable options by going to Channel 17 on their in-room televisions.

Even though most guests do not watch a lot of television during their stay at the Disney Resorts (there are hundreds of better things to do at Walt Disney World than watching television), it is nice to have more choices.
