A Peek Inside the New "Be Our Guest" Restaurant
The Disney Parks Blog just posted a very interesting post regarding the new "Be Our Guest" restaurant that will open later this year as part of the new Fantasyland Expansion. Take a look:
Walt Disney Imagineers Offer a Taste of the Be Our Guest Restaurant
“Be our guest! Be our guest! Put our service to the test!” Or so the song goes. Who doesn’t love this playful scene from “Beauty and The Beast,” in which the enchanted staff welcomes Belle to the castle in grand style?
And speaking of “style,” Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) has been busy recreating the castle’s very detailed beauty in the form of the Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park.
In this video, provided by WDI, Senior Concept Designer Ted Robledo presents our very first sneak peek inside this highly anticipated restaurant. Imagineers recently put the finishing touches on one of its major elements: a massive mural that will serve as the restaurant’s backdrop. Here, Ted shows how WDI combined digital technology with traditional artistry to create a sweeping landscape that gives guests the feeling that they really are walking into a part of the film.
Now, here you are some images of the restaurant taken from the video (a big thank you to our reader Eric!):

To reality:
Doesn't it look fantastic? It is going to be one of the most popular Disney restaurants ever created, no doubt on that! The only thing that still leaves a question is: "Where's the big, circular dome that was in the artworks?" We certainly hope it was not eliminated, as it helped to add something more to the grandeur of the restaurant...

Do you think this will be open by October 2012 as that when we are coming over???
ReplyDeleteI believe the celling is no where near complete. im sure there going to add moldings that are more of a dome shape that will go smaller and smaller as it gets to the center of the celling which will create a taller celling illusion.
ReplyDeletei said this comment on a another article about this, if you look at the pictures of the imagineers working on the backdrop with the windows there, compare the scales and you will see that the room is very big and tall. the windows are probably 2 stories tall which doesnt look huge in a picture but standing next to it makes a big defference. also when you are sitting down in there you will be even lower to the ground so NO ONE should worry about the size. Remember this is disney they pat attention to details- joey
