Islands of Adventure Update - JPRA Rehab and More
Hello,a nd welcome to a quick Islands of Adventure update! We just have a few new things to share with you, so let's not lose any time, and let's start by taking a look around the park:
Something is not open today:
Universal has finally removed from one of the shop's windows the item with the strange tag (which was not supposed to be there, of course).
BEFORE:
NOW:
Some wait-times:
Let's visit the rest of the park by going clockwise. The first "island" will be MARVEL Superhero Island:
A new sign advertises the Spiderman Meet-and-Greet:
The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman will close for a short refurbishment on February 8, 2012:
A look around Toon Lagoon:
Most of the facades and props in the area have been repainted:
One of our favorite rides is looking great:
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls has reopened, and it looks good:
Some areas still need some attention, though:
Now, let's move to Jurassic Park:
The Jurassic Park River Adventure attraction is currently closed for its seasonal refurbishment:
The entire ride area is walled-off, as they do every year or so:
We personally liked better the "themed" signs that referred to the fictional InGen Corporation. Now they decided to put out a general sign:
The ride's entrance:
The Natural Selection snack stand is also closed for refurbishment:
Triceratops Discovery Trail is closed:
...as well as the bridge that leads to the Lost Continent (it will continue to be used by guests seasonally):
Moving over to Seuss Landing, we noticed that the sign of the High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride is currently missing:
Nearby, you can also notice that a section of the "If I Ran the Zoo" play area is again closed for refurbishment:
Before ending this update, let's take a quick look around CityWalk:
The Hard Rock Cafe' is still being repainted:
Only a few spots are left:
The Blue Man Group will soon be back with a brand-new show:
And we'll end with a photo of the new LED lights that were recently installed on the big, circular structure that houses the entrance area of Universal's AMC Cineplex (you can find a video of these lights HERE):
And that is all. Thank you for reading, and see you tomorrow with many more updates!
Is everything ok with Lost Continent?
ReplyDeleteYes, why is Lost Continent's gates closed?
ReplyDeleteOh, nothing is wrong, don't worry. That gate leads to the temporary bridge that was opened back in 2009, which closes during the slow periods. The Lost Continent is still open to the public.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to Orlando in June. I will be visiting Islands of adventure, will the Jurassic Park ride be open? That is one of my favorites.
ReplyDelete@Latoya: You don't need to worry! Jurassic Park River Adventure will reopen to the public very soon, and it will definitely be open in June (unless something unexpected occurs, of course).
ReplyDeleteJurassic Park was open yesterday.
ReplyDeleteHowever it is not in very good shape. A good amount of Dinosaurs and effects are gone. Even the audio that plays at the top of the lift hill wasn't on. It was a bit disappointing.
Every time I go to IoA, I'm disappointed by the quality of the rides and their maintenance. Besides the (great) coasters, there's probably 2 or 3 other rides that I feel like riding. I've completely stopped riding Jurassic Park because it's so disappointing how little works anymore... The Spider Man revamp is great, but they really need to put some work into other areas of the park too. Of course, studios is even worse, so maybe they should focus there first (which they seem to be doing).
