JAWS - The Ride Tribute: Amity Village (PART 1)
Today, January 3, 2012, JAWS - The Ride (one of Universal Orlando's last original rides) has officially closed to the public, together with the famous Amity Village, which included countless midway games, shops, entertainment venues, and some snack points. To remember the area, we at Orlando Theme Park News decided to put together some of the pictures we took around this "mini-land." We hope you enjoy taking a look into "the past":
NOTE: This is in no way a tribute to the movie "JAWS" (which we never saw, and don't want to see...). It is just a tribute of the ride, which was located inside Universal Studios Florida.

ReplyDeleteI agree with southie_chick and Kefrif. Jaws is a cinematic masterpiece. A true classic that needs to be seen to completely capture the tension and craft the movie offers. In short, if you loved the ride, you will TREASURE the movie.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tribute. The movie was much better than the attraction, although if you didn't see it when it came out, you may think it is pretty dated at this point. Compared to today's scary movies, Jaws isn't scary at all.

ReplyDeleteI know the theme is supposed to be Amity 1976, but the Skippers always would say at the beginning of the ride: "....and because nobody has seen a great white here in this town for (Insert number of years here since 1974 (when the events of Jaws took place))
ReplyDeleteI always found that overlap in story odd. However Amity and Jaws was one of the best areas/attractions out there.
