"Sounds Dangerous" to Finally Retire in May 2012

There have been countless rumors here and there stating that the infamous "Sounds Dangerous - Starring Drew Carey" attraction is going to close soon in the near future. Finally, this very week we have the official confirmation that the attraction is going to close for good and will be completely removed from the park map:

Sounds Dangerous - Starring Drew Carey

Sounds Dangerous is still listed in the Disney’s Hollywood Studios guide map. It will be officially removed in the Star Wars Weekends version that arrives in May 2012. Please do not reference Sounds Dangerous when giving directions. The venue for the show should be referred to as the ABC Sound Studio, not the Sounds Dangerous Theater. The “Special Hours” section of the Times Guide will continue to list Sounds Dangerous as “temporarily closed” [until May 2012].

We certainly hope that the theater will be used for a new show in the near future, as the park already offers a low amount of attractions for guests. Some rumors point to a new Star Wars-themed show, while others state that the American Idol Experience should be closing sooner than previously thought, freeing even more space for a major, new attraction. We'll just have to wait and see what Disney has in mind for us.

  1. I'm glad Sounds Dangerous is closing. It was weird, if not completely pointless. I can't say the same about the American Idol Experience, which everyone should try at least once, but it's not something you need to experience over and over again. I agree with the comments regarding this park: They need more attractions, preferably not shows in my opinion.

  2. I hope it's replaced by the rumored Jedi Training Academy Show with the Audio-Animatronic Yoda!

  3. Out of all Disney Parks including the water parks and ESPN wide world of sports this is the only park that requires some huge investment though it has some great attractions tower of terror, rock 'n' roller coaster, Muppets 3d and shows like Fantasmtic but it does seem to lack a number of attractions to keep you there the full day. I think Universal Studios have done a great job in recent years. Universal studios serves those people who don't go on intense rides very well. Though i think what is really lacking at Disney Hollywood studios is the fact that isn't a working studio having lost its animation studio and the studio backlot tour to me is rather pointless and cannot emulate Universal studio's backlot tour in Hollywood because it isn't a working studio personally would love for it to be, but that would mean changes regards to tax in Florida. Even Universal Studios Florida has production with special programming of Ellen and Wheel of Fortune. Powerball Lottery, Family Feid, TNA and Sunsports/FSN. Though i know Disney has had a history but a short lived one and doesn't look it will ever be the Hollywood East they wanted it to be when they first designed the park.
