The Coolest Event of the Year is Happening January 21 at Aquatica
Aquatica is usually warm and tropical, but for one day only they're chilling down their wave pool so the brave of heart can experience the "thrill of the chill" by plunging into cold water, while supporting a great cause!
The 3rdAnnual “Polar Plunge,” benefiting Special Olympics Florida, presented by Florida Professional Firefighters will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Aquatica from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Everyone who raises a minimum $100 (per person) earns the right to come to Aquatica and take the Plunge! Plungers receive official commemorative Plunge gear and bragging rights. Cool incentives and prizes awarded based on the amount of money you raise. Special Olympics provides you with your very own, free, personal fundraising page, and it costs $0 to get started!
Prefer to stay dry, or can't attend the event, but want to support Special Olympics? No problem...simply register as a Virtual Plunger and raise pledges to receive incentives just like the Plungers, without going into the icy water or attending the Plunge at all!
Warm-hearted Floridians will be freezin' for a very good reason: all proceeds support Special Olympics Florida, which provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver, as a means to achieve physical fitness, self-esteem and life skills necessary to be a productive, respected and contributing members of their communities.
Visit Special Olympics Florida Polar Plunge for more info and to register for the Polar Plunge!
