LEGOLAND Florida Update - Still Some Work to Do
LEGOLAND Florida has just opened to the public a few weeks ago, therefore it is understandable that some of the areas of the park are missing minor thematic elements or may seem a bit incomplete. Let' take a look together at these areas, so that when they will be finally complete, we'll be able to compare the look of these zones before and after the new additions:
There was a very long line to buy tickets to the park that day... and it was about 12:30 p.m.!:
Just outside the park's gate, you can already meet some of the famous LEGO characters:
Right after the entrance, a new path leads to the area that used to house some species of animals (when the park was known as "Cypress Gardens"), which now looks completely abandoned:
This area is very large, and it will surely be one of the first areas to receive new attractions:
Another area that is currently not used:
The Conservatory should open before the end of the year:
Inside, though, it looks like there's still a lot that needs to be done:
In LEGO Kingdoms, the two shields on the castle are still missing:
Going through the Land of Adventure, we noticed a bit more benches. That's a good news:
The park itself is really beautiful, but I still cannot get over the fact that they used these unthemed fences to enclose the attractions! They could have used some wooden fences:
The area right in front of Coastersaurus was supposed to have a Barbecue Restaurant. I really hope they will finally decide to add it, as that would surely be one of the guests' favorite dining locations:
In the Imagination zone, the giraffe is still supported by a very tacky-looking, unthemed pole:
In California, they found a quite interesting way to hide the support (CLICK HERE to see the photo of the California version of the giraffe. The photos was NOT taken by the OTPN staff). Hopefully they'll fix this soon:
Also, the Kid Power Towers are surely lack a lot of theming elements. If you compare these with the California Kid Power Towers, you will notice the huge difference:
In the Cypress gardens area, we noticed a nice, new sign that should soon appear in front of the entrance to the gardens:
It states: "If you'd have a mind at peace, A hearth that cannot harden, Go find a door that opens wide, Upon a beautiful garden":
Inside the beautiful gardens:
This area is still blocked:
From the gardens you can get a good view of the backstage of the water ski show:
There are the LEGO guys and Miranda Valentina (in Italy, this would be the silliest name ever):
And that's Brickbeard:
The majestic Banyan Tree:
Some pink laces were put on some branches of the three:
We have no clue about that they could indicate:
The new waterpark still seems to be abandoned, even though it has been confirmed that it will open next spring:
In the LEGO Technic area, be sure to look for the golden piece of LEGO, the very last LEGO that was put inside the park prior to the grand opening day:
Can you see it?:
Yes, there it is!:
Going to LEGO City:
I had a lot of fun watching these small cars. They can provide some hilarious situations (especially when they get stuck!):
The Drivin' Drive-In snack point is definitely overcrowded:
They should build a bigger restaurant here, along with some restrooms:
In Miniland, we noticed that they put a clear reference to the Little Mermaid:
That's right: this is Ariel:
...and this is Flounder:
More new interactive elements should be soon added to this area:
Also, something new should appear in this area too...
Thank you very much for reading, and stay tuned for another huge update that will include a lot of general photos of the park, that will soon be added to our already big photo-gallery!

While Legoland was clearly ready for its opening day, its equally clear it wasn't COMPLETED in time for opening day.
ReplyDeleteIts many of the little thematic details that make a park special, and I hope Legoland don't slack on completing these now they're open.
Its nearly 12 months 'til I'm next in Orlando: plenty of time for all the additional work to be done, and for an already impressive park to become truly outstanding!
My guess is that the old animal area will become the Legoland resort. It's perfectly located for such a place. They can use the existing parking lot and it's adjacent to the park so guest will have easy access. Now what I'm interested in knowing is: How will they get people from the main parking lot to the water park? By boat or by tram (on the road they built between the park and Old Helena road?)
ReplyDelete@FatDonut: Thank you very much for the comment. We agree with you, the park will surely add more and more in the next few months. It will look even better in the near future, I'm sure about that!
ReplyDelete@Greg, thanks for the comment! About the waterpark, it was said that it would be accessible only from inside the park (like at LEGOLAND California), so there will not be the need of any transportation, as you will have to go through the whole LEGOLAND park to get to the waterpark .
