maybe photos give a slightly false impression, but it really looks like Disney have gone way overboard with the tarps in Canada - its HUGE! And to be honest, far far too big
ReplyDeleteIn this case, it looks like Disney have used too much of a good thing. The smaller tarps in MK looked like a nice, thoughtful touch but this just looks tacky, I'd personally rather see scaffolding around the castle than this eyesore
Really? You're going to say: One of the World Showcase lights is right in the middle of the miniatures of the Germany pavilion. We had never noticed this before: and then go on to say: Poor Placement?
ReplyDeleteIt's not really poor placement if no one notices. Sometimes your updates read as if you're just looking for things to gripe about.
@Last Anonymous: Well, I said that because I never really got a good look at the miniature section in Germany, and last time we visited the park, I saw this huge pole in the middle of the area which looks out of place. I'm sorry but I think they could have found a better place to install it... But, as always, that's my personal opinion. It's not a huge deal, but I'm very attentive to details.
ReplyDeleteWhere were you sitting to watch illuminations?
ReplyDeleteWhat the heck. Disney has hit rock bottom. Tarp city USA. What a shame.

ReplyDeleteYeah, sure. It's a real shame to see Disney work hard on maintaining and improving their attractions to enhance their guest's experience. That's a very optimistic outlook that you possess on the issue. (rolls eyes) If I had your mindset, I would have argued over why they didn't use their Pixie dust and just hid the building....Oh wait....
To the anon above me: Aren't tarps a good thing? That means disney is actually maintaining the park. Something which is very rare nowadays, sadly.
ReplyDeleteAs to whether the printed tarps look better than scaffolding/construction viewable to the public, thats probably personal preference. I happen to like these printed tarps, as, in my opinion, they don't ruin the overall view or pictures as much. You get to see what you will be seeing when maintenance is completed.
just as a side note, the building in canada is not meant to represent a castle, it is supposed to be a replica of le chateau frontenac, a famous canadian hotel built in 1893.
