SeaWorld Orlando's Major Expansion Semi-Confirmed

SeaWorld is far from being out of "the game." Many people were worried about the park, because of the recent negative publicity, and for the extremely rapid growth of all the other parks in the area, which was a contrast to the current situation of SeaWorld Orlando. Today, though, we'll see that SeaWorld is indeed planning for the future. Actually, they're planning for the near future of the park.

In fact, an article from the Orlando Sentinel has revealed some very, very interesting rumors and information about all the new rides and attractions that will come in the next two years. And, let me tell you, they're mostly going to be major attractions. Here you are the link to the original Orlando Sentinel article:

After having read the article, we can say that we are very excited about the park's future.

• First, in 2012, a new 4D adventure should open, and the name of this brand-new experience should be "Turtlesphere 360." It would also include a nice, Florida-themed animal exhibit.

• Also, even though it wasn't mentioned in the Sentinel's article,  in 2012 we should see a minor refurbishment of Shamu's Happy Harbor, which would include the addition of some water elements, according to one of Screamscape's rumors.

• In 2013, we may see one of the best attractions SeaWorld Orlando has ever added, if rumors are true. In fact, the Penguin exhibit will be completely demolished, rebuilt, and moved to another nearby location. The cleared area should then become the home of a great, new dark ride, themed to Antarctica's environments. It will take a lot of time to build this new ride, of course, as "the exhibit will close in December for an 18-month refurbishment," according to the article. That's an year and a half. SeaWorld already has some names in mind for this new area. As you may have read in the article, there are three different names being considered: Antarctica, Empire of the Penguins, and SnowWorld. 

• In the near future, also Discovery Cove will receive a lot of attention, as the former saltwater reef (now replaced by a much bigger and better reef) will be completely changed and become a freshwater environment.
