Downtown Disney Oct. 2011 Update - Pleasure Island

Pleasure Island. The meaning of this name has changed multiple times throughout the years. At first, it was a nightlife-centered area, then it became a ghost town, after, it became Hyperion Wharf (when a couple of buildings got demolished), and now... we're back to a ghost town.

Today, we're going to check out the (few) changes that the are has seen in the past two or three months.

As usual, the area does not see a lot of action, at least during the day:

The seats have been moved around. Very sad to see such a poor use of the island. It has basically become a huge sitting area, just like Innoventions West...

The Bet Soundstage has lost its marquee, and its entrance is now hidden by plants:

The Adventurer's Club has lost most of its exterior theming:

...and it has plants too:

Many additional flower topiaries have been recently added in the area:

The former Harley-Davidson location, which has now moved to the West Side:

What about the area where two huge buildings were recently demolished? Did they build anything there yet? Well, see for yourself:

Nothing, absolutely nothing:

I noticed a lot of new weeds, though:

The great-looking Irish restaurant and pub, Ranglan Road (with the T-Rex Cafe in the background:

One of the area's newest stores - Apricot Lane:

The Mannequins club has lost its marquee too:

A look at the beautiful plaza near Fulton's and Portobello:

Brand-new fountains have been installed in the river that separates Pleasure Island from the Marketplace area of Downtown Disney:

They're really powerful:

This is the only one that has not been changed:

The difference is obvious:
