Universal CityWalk Update - AmEx No More, Golf, etc.
Today, we'll check out the work being done on the new "Hollywood Drive-In Mini-Golf " and some additional, minor refurbishments that are all taking place inside Universal CityWalk - The Entertainment Capital of Orlando! Let's start:
The Drive-In Golf will open in 2012:
Over the walls:
Many of the golf's buildings are already fully enclosed:
The entrance area:
CityWalk's sign still stands:
More new, small buildings coming soon:
A new stairway has been built near "Bubba Gump":
The door that leads to the main road was wide open:
Continuing through CityWalk:
The former American Express sign-up center has recently been closed, despite the fact that AmEx is still Universal Orlando's official partner:
It is now an empty area, and it is so small that it is quite difficult to think about anything that could replace the old AmEx Center:
The Lone Palm Airport:
Some minor work being done on the facade of NBA City:
Yep, the LED screen is missing here:
The Hard Rock Cafe':
In the 'Drop-off" area, a bus was taking people to audition for the new NBC Universal show, "The Voice":
And, I guess that's all for now.
Thank you very much for viewing, and have a great day!
i have a question, is there going to be a best rides of the year forum this year? if there is, when will it start?
ReplyDeleteIs AMEX dropping their corporate sponsorship? I know that Visa / MasterCard used to be their "official" credit card.I hope they go back to them 'cause a lot of places don't take AMEX so it's harder for me to build up points.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing the poll again this year too!
It is great to hear both of you once again!! Unfortunately, this year we will not host the "BEST RIDES OF THE YEAR AWARDS"... I am really sad, because I enjoyed talking with you two, but we may have some new things coming up in the near future. Stay tuned, and thanks for commenting!
ReplyDeleteDo you know if AMEX is dropping their sponsership Sam?
ReplyDelete@Southie_Chick: As of now, Universal seems to have no plans at all to drop their sponsorship with American Express. The AMEX Lounge is still open, the AMEX logo is still everywhere on property, and the card is still advertised as the preferred payment method in the resort.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, glad to hear you again!
