Pirates of the Caribbeans - New Sound Effects Added

As lovers of this fantastic, classic Disney attractions, we couldn't avoid to share with you the introduction of this small but interesting addition. Indeed, while visiting the "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride, we noticed that there was something different. In the battle scene, where the pirate's ship is trying to take over the Spanish fort, the fake cannons now make much louder, more realistic noises.

We know that is very difficult to explain this by words, therefore we took a new on-ride video of the attraction.

- THE CURRENT ATTRACTION -

You will notice some of these new sound effects cannons after the "2:29" section of the video (we apologize for the fact that many parts of the video are blurry, but most of the attraction takes place in the dark. Thank you for understanding.):

- THE ATTRACTION BEFORE THE ADDITION OF THE NEW EFFECTS -

In the past, the noises made by the cannons sounded a bit "artificial". In this video (shot in May 2011), you can notice that there are only noises of rocks falling from the fort. In the new version of this scene, those noises have been complemented by realistic "booms" (the same scene begins at "2:39" in this older video):

These new sound effects are so powerful that they can be heard throughout the entire attraction, making the ride much more realistic. Now, it looks like pirates are actually surrounding the whole city. Nice addition, isn't it?

  1. I hope they cannot be heard where they are not supposed to be heard (the bayou, e.g.)

  2. I´m an idiot, sorry - no bayou, of course, at WDW... - however, there are portions of the ride where I feel there should be no cannon sounds...
