Epcot Update: Work in Canada, Japan & More (Part 2)
Thanks for joining us on part 2 of this new Epcot update. Let's continue our tour of Future World:
In the old "Communicore" building, there's this nice timeline of Epcot Center, right?:
Well, it looks like somebody wanted Walt's face to act as a "signature," as they placed a sticker of his face on the board:
He looks a lot like the gentlemen from Kentucky Fried Chicken in this sticker, doesn't he?:
Checking out "The Land" pavilion, which is always great:
Some technical problems at the Seas too...
One of the seagulls' face was stuck:
Maybe something (or somebody) caught his attention:
He was in awe:
A sea of strollers:
Going back, to ride Spaceship Earth, we found that they were working under the ride's track:
Sorry for the extremely blurry pictures, but it was pitch black inside (but you can still see the light coming from under the track, in the caveman scene:
The sculptor was still missing:
The descent is so boring that we wanted to try something different. We wanted to see if the face recognition program would have recognized my face with the cap covering it, and surprisingly, it did (putting two holes through it):
Even though there was nobody next to me, it was very funny to see a completely headless character. Very creepy, I must say:
- Going to World Showcase -
The Canadian pavilion is receiving some much-needed attention. Indeed, the castle is currently being repainted, and wall have gone up right in the former location of one of the pavilion's shops:
The Northwest Mercantile shop is still open:
Also, the O' Canada attraction is open, but guests have to take the alternative route to enter the attraction:
Still open. Go see Martin:
That same location has been abandoned for a long time, and nothing replaced the former shops. Hopefully, while repainting, they will also think about re-opening those shops to the public:
A long wall encircles the castle:
All the directional signs in the pavilion have been changed:
The sign for "Le Cellier" now also advertises the "O' Canada" attraction:
I wonder why it still says "NEW":
This is the current entrance to the attraction, which is extremely narrow. If a wheelchair is coming from the opposite direction, you've to go back to the starting point:
More pictures of the closed path:
We hope they really improve the area:
Victoria's Garden:
Thanks for joining us in part 2 of this update! Please, now proceed to PART 3, for more pictures of World Showcase!

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, Bigfoots! I completely forgot about that!! Please, will you remind me the next time we go to the park? Sorry again!
ReplyDeleteOh... but you must not apologize for that!!!! Epcot is huge and wide and there are so many things to see that I can naturally understand why forgot of my little request! Don't worry, you know how I love your blog (and I never complain like some people here does thinking that that you MUST GIVE us every thing we want and you MUST THINK as we like! I like your opinion and it's not a problem if they are different from mine, we are not all the same person, else we should be some animatronic and not some people!!!!)
ReplyDeleteKeep your great work as ever you do!!!
And NEVER STOP ROCKING!!!!!!!
What's going on the Canada with that castle thing?
ReplyDeleteIt's not a castle, it's a hotel. It's based on the great hotels built by the railroads in Canada's largest cities (like the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City) and beautiful spots (like the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta).
ReplyDeleteMy guess is they are just doing some routine but intense maintenance, and perhaps finally found someone who wanted to occupy the long-vacant shop space.
