Islands of Adventure - Triceratops Trail News & More

This week we've got a new Islands of Adventure photo-update with some great news, involving one of the nicest attractions in the Jurassic Park area of the park: Triceratops Discovery Trail! So, let's not loose any more time, and let's start checking out the park:

The Adventure Begins:

The Port of Entry area is really one of the best-themed main streets we've ever seen:

During these hot summer months, they've added a lot of these carts, that sell not only beverages, but also other miscellaneous souvenirs:

Coca Cola is really making its way into the Universal Theme parks! I mean, they've already sponsored two quick service locations in both parks (The Watering Hole and the Earthquake-themed restaurant at US), as well as the stand that sits right in the middle of CityWalk (the huge Coke bottle, remember?):

The wait times:

Going to Seuss Landing, we see that they're working on a section of "If I ran the Zoo" play area, specifically the water section):

A look over the walls:

As you can see, the work is pretty extensive:

Some of the facades of Seuss Landing are being repainted:

Another temporary stand...

The Lost Continent:

Mythos' fountain:

The beverage stand that once stood here seems to be gone for good. Oh, the irony!:

Well, the location was not one of the best anyway...

Now, on to the big news... Triceratops Discovery Trail is coming back soon, and with the complete queue! When? We don't know exactly when, but it should be sooner that we think... Take a look!:

No, this is not new, but let's look over these palms:

Yes, they've removed the fence that blocked the passage to the old queue!

BEFORE:

NOW:

More work around the area:

A new path is being created on the other side:

Here's the new path, covered by foliage:

Cement will be poured soon:

Jurassic Park River Adventure is back open:

The signs are really great-looking after the refurbishment:

Big Splash, perfect for hot days!

The Pteranodon Flyers' track is too visible, in my opinion. They should add more trees:

As a storm approached, some of the rides had to close down:

Spiderman:

The Hulk looks better than ever:

The launching tube has been repainted just recently:

More work:

Repainting in progress here too:

And that is all! Than you very much for viewing.

  1. Would you ever consider posting pictures of the former queue for Dueling Dragons? I'm dying to find out what they changed when they Harry Potter'd up that ride. My friend told me the queue is a shell of it's former self.

  2. Great update, how many degrees there were when you take the picture???

I know that you don't like Harrypotterland, but on july 15 2011 the last movie will be unveiled to the world and it will be the second anniversary of the park section, so I think it's time for a good report focused on Potterland!

Your are our them park news dispenser and we need some news about it. :-D

  3. Harry Potters 2year anniversary is on June 18, 2012, not June 18, 2011

  4. Oh Jake.. you are right!!! I've made a mistake!!! ahaha

So the first anniversary is even more important than the second one!!!

I think the time is coming for a dedicated report, but I know that our favorite blogger isn't a great Potter fan so I can't insist, but just only hope one of his famous megareport!!

  5. I, too, would love a Potter update. I can't remember the last time we got to see it here, besides when it was being built. I was there for the grand opening, and it was spectacular...I'd love to see it again, as my pass ran out!
I really enjoy your detailed reports, and I think it would be great to see one on the WWoHP. Sure, I go on Orlando United a lot, but nothing beats your reports.

  6. Oh, wow, so many requests about that! Sorry if I didn't post before, but I am not ignoring your comments, I'm just really busy. I know what you mean about the new area, but as Bigfoot said, we do not really enjoy it because of its theme, therefore we don't include it in our updates. There's nothing new there anyway...
But, thank you so much for your comments, and nice to hear you again, Marina!

  8. Great update! Forgive the question, any reason why you don't care for Harry Potter? Not trying to start anything just curious, everyone's entitled to their opinion....
