Firehouse Gift Shop at the Magic Kingdom - TRIBUTE
As you may know, it was recently announced that the Engine Co. 71 store (also known as the Firehouse Gift Shop) would cease its operation on July 7, 2011. For this reason, we wanted to make this small tribute to this nice shop, which has been open since Magic Kingdom first opened on October 1, 1971. Take a look at bot the outside and inside of the shop:
Disney has confirmed that the exterior of the firehouse will not change:
Inside the store:
Most of the merchandise sold in this store will be available at the Emporium:
The theming of the store was really great:
Some rumors indicate that a new meet-and-greet (yet another!) may move in this building soon:
Farewell, Engine Co. 71!:
Thank you very much for viewing, and have a great day!
I have been told by someone that there is an apartment that is not in use on the 2nd floor... id love to see a pic of that lol
ReplyDeleteoh and im not talking about the disneyland one....
ReplyDeleteYAY !! ANOTHER POSSIBLE YET POINTLESS MEET AND GREET IN THIS NICE FIRE STATION !!! IT WILL PROBABLY BE SOME CHARACTER WE DONT CARE ABOUT!!!
ReplyDeleteIm soo thrilled
I'd like to see this building become a sort of 40th Anniversary exhibit area, as this building has (on the exterior at least) probably been one of the least-changed buildings (i.e. no different paint scheme, etc) in the Magic Kingdom.
ReplyDeleteWith the loss of the Exposition Hall, there's really no where else to put a 40th Anniversary display, unless they just don't plan on doing one.
