Firehouse Gift Shop on Main Street Closes July 7
One of the most iconic shop of Main Street U.S.A., the "Engine Co. 71 - Firehouse Gifts" shop, located right next to the City Hall at the Magic Kingdom, will soon close for renovation. Here you are the official news about this closure:

The Firehouse Gift Station at Magic Kingdom Park will be closed effective Sunday, July 10 so we can explore other opportunities for this location.
While future plans for the interior of the Firehouse are still in development, the exterior of the structure, which is a beloved part of Main Street, U.S.A., will remain.

Although future plans for the interior of the Firehouse are still in development, Magic Kingdom Park plans to continue the tradition of receiving guests’ patches at the Firehouse when it reopens in its future state. In the interim, guests will be able to take their patches to City Hall.
2) Will the product featured at Firehouse continue to be sold elsewhere at Magic Kingdom?
Much of the product carried at the Firehouse will continue to be available nearby at the Emporium.
3) Will the penny press or engraving machines currently at the Firehouse be relocated?

that's too bad, the building is designed as a firehouse, it was so charming with all the Firefighter gear in one place for sale! Let's hope they replace it with some type of firefighter museum type thing, and not another retail shop...
