Spiderman's Upgrade: Old Vs. New
As you surely know, "The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman", one of Islands of Adventure signature rides, will be receiving a pretty major overhaul, at least when considering the technological side of the ride. In fact, all the ride's 3D screen will be completely changed and transformed into High-Definition videos (read more details about what you can expect after the refurbishment of this ride is done).
The ride's screen will not only become much clearer and much more impressive, but they will also show new details that were previously not visible. In some cases, the scenes of the ride will be completely re-designed, always maintaining the same story-line. Take a look at this great picture, which compares one of the current views on the ride, with the 2012 version, courtesy of Screamscape:

You can clearly tell the difference. The image on the bottom is much better. The colors will be more vivid, and the details will stick out even more. If you notice, also Spiderman looks much more realistic than the more "cartoon-y" version that we have now. We can hardly wait to see this great attraction become even better!
Brilliant, cannot wait to take a ride! Hopefully they will advertise the fact they make these changes.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's really and truly exciting that there making it more clearer and more vivid it's about time that Universal upgraded the greatest ride ever can't wait.
ReplyDeleteIts great that they are upgrading it to 4K definition but I think they could have done better.
ReplyDelete4K resolution is great and a tremendous upgrade to the ride but.. 4K has been around a while and right now 8K, or Super Hi-Vision, is emerging. It offers almost 3x more resolution than 4K. Comparison:
4K in full aperature mode (highest quality) gets 12,746,752 pixels. Super Hi-Vision gets 33,177,600 pixels.
I'm just guessing that the current video is in SVGA which offers 480,000 pixels.
Just my opinion, but I think they should have taken advantage of the most recent tech.
@one of the posters above: But Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is the greatest ride ever.
ReplyDeletei just want to know the date that they close the ride due to vacation on january 2012
ReplyDelete@Roxas: I think that the only ride you MAY find closed in January is one of the water rides. One of them usually goes down for refurbishment during January, just because it's one of the slowest time of the year.
