Fantasyland Update - Skyway Work Begins and More
After a couple of very busy weeks, we're back with some new, incredible update! Why incredible? Well, because a lot of work has been done while we were busy, making it even more interesting to see what's new and what has changed in such a short period of time! Today it's Fantasyland time! Let's check it out together:
NEW! - The Fantasyland Skyway has finally been walled-off, and will be destroyed for good very soon:
Even though we're really happy about the changes that are coming in the area, it will be sad to see an iconic and original structure of the Magic Kingdom going away:
The Skyway is being destroyed to widen the path between Fantasyland and Liberty Square, as well as to build new bathroom facilities that will replace the old (and too crowded) bathrooms next to Peter Pan's Flight:
No more water flowing down here... for now. Indeed, the new area will feature small waterfalls and a pond. That makes us very happy! We love water features:
The removal of one of the last planters is almost done:
NEW! - The work on the back of the castle is done, much sooner than what we were expecting!:
It looks simply fantastic:
Isn't it great?:
NEW! - New walls have popped-up nearby:
NEW! - Cinderellas's fountain is back! The refurbishment was very effective, as you can see:
It looks great:
They repainted the background:
Snow White, leaving too soon:
NEW! - Work on Pinocchio's Village Haus' roof:
Work continues on the Beauty and the Beast's area:
The rockwork is starting to look nice!:
Very realistic:
Belle's cottage:
Work is also underway on the new Little Mermaid ride:
The rockwork is great-looking here too. And it's not even done yet:
More photos of the area:
The castle is taking shape:
Near Winnie the Pooh, they've installed a cover for the sound system:
It doesn't look nice at all:
Be sure to check out OTPN later today for pictures of the new Storybook Circusland area! See you later, and remember that we are doing a lot of things for you, including frequent photo-updates and special reports, so to say to us "Thank you", you can donate something by clicking here, you can join our official Facebook page and also post any eventual comment or question on the bottom of each post! ReplyDeletePaul,
ReplyDeleteYou should be just fine, one would imagine the ride will not close until the Snow White area opens in the extension.
You can see Beast's face in the details of the rockwork, under the scaffolding and to the left of one of the metal bars that juts out of it.
ReplyDeletei love your site. im taking my kids he week of june 19th. will we miss anything due to the construction?
ReplyDeleteHello! If you come on June 19, 2011, you should be able to see pretty much everything, but the Enchanted Tiki Room at Magic Kingdom and Primeval Whirl at Animal Kingdom. Both will reopen late August 2011.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic vacation, and follow the site for more info about unexpected ride closures! :-)
Hello! Great pictures, a nice update. We will be in Disney June 19th 2012 to June 27th. Is there any expectancies of when some of the areas will open? Especially Belle's?
