Epcot General Update - Last Flowers...

Let's see... We recently covered the FUNtastic Pixar Weekend event, but what about Epcot, the park that hosted that event? No, we didn't forget to take a look around the park! These photos still include some pictures of some of the great floral compositions, as the Flower & Garden Festival was still ongoing (the very last day of this year's event was Sunday, May 15, 2011. Sad, I k now!), so, enjoy the pictures!:

Sorry to see all these great topiaries go away soon! But don't worry, they'll be around the resort, maybe in other parks or Disney hotels:

Work continues on the broken "Leave a Legacy" gravestone:

This is the great Spaceship Earth:

Technical problems:

Inside INNOVENTIONS, no new work is visible... How sad!:

Inside ImageWorks, it's the same thing:

Nice view... Notice the "rainbow" on the water's surface!:

The Melody Gardens near Innoventions West is gone:

The sign of the Seas pavilion was just refurbished a few months ago:

The Seas with Nemo and Friends has a very nice photo-op. Did you check it out?:

The ever-changing sand sculpture:

Scary:

More great flowers:

The nice Cars 2 topiary:

France:

In Japan, they were either testing the lights, or just forgot to turn them off:

Take a look at this short video we shoot:

The fire barge is still being worked on, and it's missing entirely from "ILLUMINATIONS: reflections of Earth":

In China, work continues on the outside shop:

New name, coming soon:

New (?) light fixtures:

In Norway, Maelstrom was packed:

Yes, that's an extended queue...

And, yes, that's a 70-minute wait!:

One side of the rock formation was receiving some work:

New menu near the Cantina:

And, that is all for now! See you later, and remember to check out our Facebook page, and donate something, if you enjoy our updates!

  1. Nice to see Maelstrom with such a long wait. Maybe Disney will wake up and build some new attractions. Though it would be best if they didn't. They'd probably throw in some out of place characters...the new light fixtures are interestingly western looking in China but I like the new motifs around them. I'll miss the original ceiling ornamentation there. Not sure if that was a good change. Great report!

  2. I've witnessed a similar light test in Canada before.
