Magic Kingdom update - Spring Break Crowds

This is one of the most crowded times of the year, especially for the Magic Kingdom, the world's most visited theme park in the world. Add the Grand Opening of the new Town Square Theater, and you're all set for an extremely busy day. Actually though, it wasn't as bad as we imagined. But Touring Plans was very right: it was the park to avoid that day!

Anyway, let's see what's new and what has changed in the park since our last visit, not too long ago!:

As we said before, the new Town Square Theater was finally officially open, and we've got a great update divided in two parts, that you can find here: PART 1 - PART 2

Work continues near Tony's restaurant:

Work is almost done on the side of the City Hall:

Work is also still underway on the Confectionery:

Very nice, huh?:

Another look at the new Adventureland bridge, which is really great:

The temporary bridge on the side it's still there, but it's slated for demolition soon:

No more princesses here (but somebody else will take over here after the Flower & Garden Festival):

The theme of the Magic Carpets is really nice, but in my opinion, they're out of place. There's not enough space to walk in the Adventureland plaza!:

The Tiki Room is still closed for refurbishment:

What are these walls hiding?:

Pirates of the Caribbeans' wait time was much longer than 35 minutes:

Look here:

Busy Frontierland:

This view will change soon, when the new path to Liberty Square will open:

There was a line even for the floating bridge on Tom Sawyer's Island!:

FANTASYLAND CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

Work continues on the back of Cinderella Castle:

Rock-work on the Beauty and the Beast's castle:

The Beauty and the Beast's village:

The Little Mermaid:

New roof on the Little Mermaid Building:

New arches on the left:

New walls near Dumbo! Is this the start of the work on Castle walls? Does this mean that Dumbo will be closing relatively soon?:

Winnie the Pooh's clock was not working:

Storybook Circusland:

Over-the-walls (well, maybe under-the-walls) look at the Circus area:

More work on the new circus:

The Barnstormer, still mostly intact:

The Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant was open for the crowds:

Sign telling people that it still exists:

The not-so-nice-looking projectors are finally being hidden. Here's one of the two on Main Street that has been hidden:

It really breaks the forced perspective, and it looks too temporary, even though I hope they will keep these projectors for a long, long time, as the effects they create are fantastic! Don't believe me? Then watch our video of the new nighttime show "The Magic, the Memories and You!" on YouTube!)

The other one is still exposed:

The one in Tomorrowland is the one that really fits the area! It blends beautifully with the building:

Isn't it time to get rid of this Celebrate Today stuff?:

There was a nice Yacht outside the park:

We actually saw it before entering the park (not when exiting, even though we posted this photo after all the others, but it's only for logistic reasons):

A beautiful view of Space Mountain:

Outside the park, work on the new monorail beam continues:

That is all for now! Thanks for reading!

  1. That yacht is called the Grand 1. I'll be sailing on it in a little over a week to see Wishes!

  3. They should put the projector boxes on a track so that during the show they could roll the projectors to where they need to be. then after they could simply roll it out of sight.
