Downtown Disney update - PART 1: West Side
It has been a while since out last Downtown Disney update, therefore it's time to see what has changed during the past weeks, and, believe me, really a lot has changed! This a very large update, therefore it has been divided in three parts, based on the area of Downtown Disney. This one is about the West Side. Later, you'll see what's new at Pleasure Island (that will soon become Hyperion Wharf) and ultimately, you'll see what has changed at the Marketplace.
Let's start! The West Side has received a lot of additional work:
A new sign for the refurbished AMC Downtown Disney 24 has been installed on the border of the road:
It looks really nice, and it advertises the new Dine-In Theaters, where you can eat... while watching a movie!:
More new signs all around the theater:
Another new sign:
The refurbished water tower of AMC:
Entering the area:
Planet Hollywood looks nice, as usual:
Work on the new AMC Dine-In Theaters is almost completely done:
Since the entrance is sill closed, there's a map telling guests where to go to enter the theater:
A new lounge area has been set up on the fron of the entrance:
Opening May 2011... In two days?:
We can't wait to experience it:
The other side of the Movie Theater is still open:
The old Little Missmatched location has moved to the Marketplace. The building will now be occupied by the Harley-Davidson store (that will then move from Pleasure Island):
Peek above the walls:
The work being done on the building looks very extensive:
Characters in Flight:
A peaceful day at Downtown Disney:
D-Street:
A look inside RideMakerz, which will close on May 1, 2011:
Inside the RideMakerz building:
You could even buy Lightning McQueen there:
This looked like a new screen:
The testing area for new cars:
Around the West Side area:
Wolfgang Puck:
Cirque du Soleil
Disney Quest:
That is all for the West Side of Downtown Disney!
Be sure to visit also our Pleasure Island and our Marketplace updates, coming soon!
Nice update, thanks for the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI really hope one day you will realize a report on the Disney Quest, one of the most underrated place in Orlando: It's Amazing for all those people who like videogame!!!! It was a real big surprise the first time we've been there for the first time and if you have an unused Disney waterpark ticket, you can spend many hour inside having a lot of fun without spend a dollar!!!
ReplyDeleteAMC's website says that location will open on May 16th.
