Islands of Adventure update (after Dudley's fire)
After the big fire alarm that scared a lot of theme park fans and guests, here you are an update of Islands of Adventure, to see what's new around the park and what problems (if any) the fire has caused:
Two attractions were closed (one is obvious, the other not so much):
As we said also last year, it's amazing how plants can have flowers in JANUARY! I love Florida:
Park hours:
Wait time for some of the attractions:
Surprisingly, some of the holiday bands are staying, at least until the end of the week:
No more Jet Skis or Flying Kites...
Seuss landing, one of my favorite islands:
The Cat in the Hat WILL NOT see me again, at least for a while, since the spinning is once again crazy:
The "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" attraction is under refurbishment:
This desolate area looks like a small but great expansion site *HINT*:
It's always nice to see the fountain work:
And it's EXTREMELY wonderful to see the water vortex still working!!:
The Triceratops Discovery trail is now closed once again. It closed on DECEMBER 30, 2010 as we announced. To see pictures of it, just go here.
More entertainment:
The signs of Jurassic park were very badly-kept:
In TOON LAGOON, Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls is (of course) closed for refurbishment:
The "Pardon our dust" sign:
Luckily, there's NO DAMAGE to the ride's facade. Most of the fire took place on the hidden roof:
working on the ride:
Last year's refurb was great, but they did not paint this tower, hopefully they will this year:
Wimpy is once again closed:
Popeye needs a refurbishment! it's my favorite water-attraction ever, so they can't leave it like this:
Also "Me ship - The Olive" needs to be painted:
And, here you are Popeye and Olive!!:
The Outer Toons were playing on the stage in front of the Toon Lagoon Theater, and they were great:
Here you are a video of their performance (with some little surprises!):
In Marvel Superhero Island:
The big, green problem:
Yes, the Hulk is still rusty:
Great panorama:

Great update!
ReplyDeleteGood job being on point with the IOA update! I was really curious (as a lot of others) in seeing if Dudley was "still" there...
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful Universal didn't had to put a sign saying:
Dudley is closed on the account that it burned to the freeeaking ground!! LOL!
Popeye and Olive look a little questionable...
Thanks for satisfying our curiosity Samuele!
Wow... I'm feel better watching no damage are visible!
ReplyDeleteLooking this picture http://www.cfnews13.com/static/articles/images/news2011/smith1111.jpg tacked, I think, form empty lot here http://maps.google.it/maps?t=h&hl=it&ie=UTF8&ll=28.469232,-81.472486&spn=0.0006,0.001206&z=20 the fire seems to come from the right-back (watched from the bridge in front of the attraction) near the "Rock Faces".
I Hope Universal will schedule a general refurbishment of the park, now that "Potterland" is complete and in particular of Hulk, one of my favorite coaster!
I still unhappy for the closure of Trix encounter! I can't understand why they ned to loose a great show like this!!!
It seems to me that Universal seems to have most paint projects on the eternal back burner.
ReplyDeletecan we please have some wizarding world pictures? there haven't been any in a while and i really wanted to see the christmas decorations when they were up
ReplyDeleteI was here when you were, I saw the band performing, I didnt stop I kept walking, but I was there from wed the 5th til sat the 8th. Must've walked by ya when you were watchin the band
ReplyDeleteIf you look closer at the Dudley Do Rights tower, to the right next to the light blue pipe you can see the black spot on the mountain where the fire happened. You dont have any good shots of where the fire happened cause I dont think you knew where to look. The fire took place behind the rock faces/just to the right of them.
