More info on the newly-reopened "One Man's Dream"

As you know, the fantastic attraction-exhibit found at Disney's Hollywood Studios (Walt Disney: One Man's Dream) has recently reopened to the guests (PHOTOS HERE). Well, today we bring some more information about the attraction's history and some photos of the Imagineers working on the attraction:

Recently, the team worked on the refresh of One Man's Dream at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Originally opened in 2001 as an 18-month attraction, One Man's Dream was quickly embraced by guests of all ages and backgrounds. For Disney-lovers, the galleries provided an extra piece of magic that couldn't be found in history books. Younger guests and those new to the Disney legacy found ample artifacts and easy-to-read plaques highlighting everything from attraction models and movie props to company milestones and achievements.

So why close something that educates hundreds of guests each day? "We are always looking to the future and trying to be as innovative and creative as we can," said Wyatt Winter, Project Manager and Show Producer for One Man's Dream refresh. "Since the attraction opened, we’ve had another decade of history and that needs to be reflected in the show."

Some of the most exciting new artifacts include the original Mr. Lincoln Audio-anamatronic© figure, the first human AA ever created.

Close by, you can also sneak a peek at an "it’s a small world" model being put together and don't forget the icons near the end of the attraction, an original Figment AA, the Robot Butler from Horizons and characters from Kitchen Kabaret have been added to the exhibit.

Just when you think it's over, Imagineers pull out another surprise. Similar to the Blue Sky attraction at Disney California Adventure, a preview area has been created at the end of One Man's Dream just prior to the feature film.

Gallery-goers will see what's coming in our theme parks, resorts and cruise ships with exhibits scheduled to alternate approximately every six to twelve months. Right now, stop by to see concept art and models from the Magic Kingdom Fantasyland Expansion project as well as information about Disney's Aulani Resort in Hawaii and more.

Not only have changes been made to the gallery's artifacts, an updated graphics package along with new carpet, paint and fixtures have transformed and streamlined this one-of-a-kind attraction. Imagineers have re-conceptualized the exhibit entrance by making it more accessible to guests entering from Pixar Place. Walls that once provided physical and visual barriers have been removed to allow easier flow and increased exhibit space. "It has a whole new look and feel," Teri Long, Manager-Exhibitions, said.

Since the completion of the One Man's Dream refresh, the Collections Management team already has moved on to their next project.

  1. I so cannot wait to go to Hollywood Studios and see this. I hope they continue to build it. Wish they'd have a video montage of gameplay from Epic Mickey. Game would have made Walt proud.
