Islands of Adventure - BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! (Part 1)

In the past few days, we've post quite a few updates that show really busy theme parks, like the Magic Kingdom. But what about Islands of Adventure? With the new additions that it has been receiving, you would expect it to be very busy. The truth is that... it wasn't busy. It was AWFULLY BUSY!
This doesn't mean that it was awful to stay there though, as Universal has done a magnificent job in keeping the crowds amused with a lot of temporary shows and added performances of the year-round shows.

Enough with the words! Let's see some photos, shall we?:

Beginning from the path that leads to the park, you could say that it was going to be a bad day:

ALL (and when i say "all", I mean all) the turnstiles were open, even the gates:

This may save your life today:

The wait time at around 11 a.m., just THREE (3) hours after the park had opened:

What do I see there?:

Whoa! That's the line for.... You'll see that later:

Some kites for their new, temporary show, called "Kiteman" (videos coming soon!):

More kites:

There were also a lot of bands around the park, including the "Modern mystics" (video coming soon!):

The Green Eggs and Ham was open!!:

Speechless:

More people:

Another band (no video available, sorry!):

Entering the Lost Continent:

To enter to the new area, you had to go all the way to Toon Lagoon... just to take a return time ticket!!:

...and that was for obvious reasons:

In Jurassic park, it was the same thing:

The end of the stand-by line to enter the new area:

Do you remember that JP River Adventure had a 5-minute wait at the beginning of our update?
Well, look after just half an hour:

Way too busy:

The stand-by line was... !!!!

I did not enter the area, but I wanted to check out the extended queue, as it went right through a backstage area that nobody had ever seen before... What do you say? Should we go in?:

But.... you'll have to go to PART 2 OF THIS UPDATE to see pictures of the backstage, and much more!!!

  1. OK, wait a minute. I see all of these huge wait times for everything else that I would expect to have big wait times, but why does Dragon Challenge have a 10 and later a 5 minute wait?? I would expect for a great ride like that to have a 90 min wait like Hulk or something.

  2. Because Dragon Challenge can pump through more guests in one hour than any coaster on earth when three trains are running on each of the two tracks.
