Save the Hulk!

Our friends over at Amusement Park Authority have set up a very good cause, that is focused on one of the most neglected coasters: The Incredible Hulk coaster.

You can join their group by going HERE.

If they reach a fair amount of followers, maybe Universal will finally do what they have to do, that is PAINT THE HULK! It's rusty and nasty, and it really needs some love. We've been saying this for a long time, but unfortunately it doesn't seem one of Universal's priorities.

What do you think? Should they paint it now or they should wait for a bit more?

  1. I believe it should be painted, but closing the ride this time of year is just not good business practices. Especially with the problems they already have with Rip Ride Rockit, they can't afford to close another attraction this close to the holiday season. They should close and re-paint the ride in the beginning of January, when the holidays are over, and attendance is way down.

  2. Actually a ride can be painted without closing it. It would just look weird. One instance is Xcelerator at Knotts Berry Farm.

But if it was closed painting would take no more than 2-3 weeks. I am also working on setting up an actual web page with more information than the cause page.

What really gets on my nerves is that Hulk was closed to my understanding back in mid September and yet nothing was done to clean this up. This is just unacceptable.

  3. I was at IOA on sunday and noticed the Jurassic ride is just as dirty as the Hulk ride.

  4. The Hulk is a popular ride attraction, I understand the diffuculties of closing the ride for refurbishment, since The Hulk is a popular attraction for IOA.
I do think The Hulk should be repainted sometime soon, just to give it a fresh look!

  5. I think it needs to repainted ASAP. I love the ride, and it's one of the first things you see walking towards the parks in City Walk. I think it deserves more attention...it needs to be freshened up.

  7. Frankly, I don't see what the difficulty is in bringing in a painting crew for an overnight painting. My guess is that it'll simply too costly to do so in the span of one night (or several nights, even), and they're simply waiting for the off season to shut her down and paint away during normal daylight park hours when, I suspect, it's cheaper to do so.
