Future World extends hours!
A great news for all Epcot fans (including myself!)!
All the attractions of Future World will open from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. daily, starting OCTOBER 3rd, 2010!
Before, only Spaceship Earth, Mission:Space, Test track, Soarin' and The Seas with Nemo and Friends were open until 9 P.M., while all the other rides and attraction used to close at 7 P.M.
Now, even the Universe of Energy, Innoventions East, Innovention West, Captain EO, Journey into Imagination, Circle of Life and Living with the Land will remain open until 9! I'm very happy about this, especially because I normally visit the parks after 4 p.m.
It's a great move in my opinion, as people can now choose which attractions they want to see, whenever they want to. What's your opinion?
Do you know how long they're going to keep this schedule (9AM-9PM)?
ReplyDeleteAs for now, the change should be permanent!!
ReplyDeleteLame. Epcot has no vibe. It's a tired old park that needs a MAJOR overhaul. There is not enough in Future world, it feels abandoned. I had never seen the old Epcot and have only been there once and that was in January of this year. If it's the same when we visit next time I don't think I'd return until it gets new attractions. World showcase is nice but still ranked 4th in all the parks.

ReplyDeleteI didn’t mean to freak you out! Sorry. I guess the ambiance just reminds me allot of Tomorrowland in the MK. We do 3 things and move on. Space Mountain, TTA & Carousel of Progress.
ReplyDeleteWhen we went to Future World, we loved only 1 ride. Space Ship Earth. That was really fun! We really liked Turtle Talk with Crush. that was entertaining.
Let me explain why we didn’t like it...
1. Soarin was disappointing. The seats fun and the smells were cool but the movie didn’t capture me... AT ALL. I guess it's because we have an Omni theatre at our Science Museum back home. If you have ever been to an Omni Theatre you will know that the movies shown there, provide a more realistic sensation of flight and they have stationary seats!!! That's what made it a bummer. I was so looking forward to it for the whole trip and I was under whelmed. I feel bad saying that because I love Disney!!!
2. Test Track. Another ride I was so psyched to experience. The ride was good BUT It also felt like a huge commercial to me. Especially the show room at the end. Now if it weren’t sponsored by a single car manufacturer and showcased several companies, I wouldn’t have felt so patronized when I left the ride. The exit queue was like a deflating balloon. It ruined the ride for me.
3. Mission Space was good but they could have done so much more with a walk through space colony. When I got back home I spent more time thinking about how this area could be improved.
4. Journey into Imagination. Sad. That whole Pavilion is sad. I would love to have seen the 2nd floor but it's not open. Honey I Shrunk was ok but to me it's abandoned because this movie is not a top tier classic.
5. Everything in Innoventions we can do back home at out local Science Museum and Children's Museum and for whole lot less money! Now I wouldn’t mind it if the headliners were Fantastic but they are not.
6. Living with the Land was closed when we were there. I really wanted to see it. I think I would have liked it.
7. We skipped Ellen's Energy Adventure on a tip from a friend. I still regret this. It probably would have been more thrilling that Soarin
To summarize FW, the headliners are not fantastic. Instead they are just good. And frankly good just doesn’t cut it for a Disney Park.
When comparing the FW headliners to the other 3 parks, Epcot comes in 4th.
That's just my Opinion.
Yes Jon, I understand, I was just kidding with that face :-)!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing is that if you've been following the blog since a long time, you know HOW MUCH I LOVE EPCOT!
But, most of your points are really good! Let's see:
1. I can't agree with Soarin'. For me it's great, but I would LOVE a new film about the whole world, not only about California! I'm sick of seeing all these references to California! We're in Florida!
2. About the ending of Test Track, I've never thought about it... But the ride itself is one of the best ever, so I don't mind the post show...
3. I hate Mission:Space. That's all I can say about it.
4. Imagination NEEDS a rehab, especially Journey into Imagination. Captain EO is kind o nice IMHO.
5. I love Innoventions! There are soo many things to do. But there are also some empty spaces that could be used. Innovention's newest exhibit is great (The Sum of All thrills) and it's a ride, so it's good for me!
6. You would have loved LWTL!! It's a great combination of dark ride and ride-through a beautiful garden.
7. Universe of Enenrgy is 45 minutes long, and it could be used for something much better, believe me!
To conclude, I LOVE Epcot. It's true, there are some flaws in some of the pavilions, but it's my favorite park. Of course, that's my opinion, and I appreciate your explanation! Thanks!!! :-)
