Via Napoli - OTPN's OFFICIAL Review!
Here's the official review of the brand-new Pizzeria/Ristorante located at Epcot, Italian Pavilion:
VIA NAPOLI
The restaurant will OFFICIALLY open TODAY, August 5th 2010, but we've had the opportunity of taking a sneak peek at it just yesterday.
- THE BUILDING -
The building itself actually has very few real Italian particulars, speaking about the interiors. It looks more like a modern Pizzeria, with an exaggeratedly tall roof (even though I like tall building, that's not the right height of a typical Pizzeria in Naples!) and it is not as large as I originally thought...
The ovens are greatly themed, and the atmosphere is overall very nice, with paintings of the Italian countryside on the walls. There are in total 300 seats inside and 100 seats outside (not used at that time).
The outside is even better-looking than the inside in my opinion, with the statues and a logo with a horse.
- THE FOOD -
We got inside the restaurant at 7 p.m., and I'm so grateful we did, because we had to wait 15 minutes, but all the people that came a bit after us had to wait at least until 8.15 p.m. for the lack of available tables (it's already famous!). Anyway, we got seated, and our waiter gave us the menu.
Talking about the food itself, we had of course to buy a pizza (which was great, really, and I AM ITALIAN, so I think I know when a pizza tastes good ;-) ) and a "fritto misto di pesce" (fried fish with calamari and vegetables). They were all very good. The price is a bit too much (a personal pizza is $16, a large pizza is $28 or something like that) because even though the pizza's great, at Portofino bay in Universal Orlando a large one costs $15 and it's as good as this one.
We didn't try any specialty drinks for now, but soon!
Now, some pictures!:
The occasional guest will not notice that "Tutto Italia" was built in 1982, while the new Pizzeria was built in 2010!
The new area is very nice
The outside seating area:
This looks like a Cast Member entrance:
But it's not! It's great that they've hidden the stroller/weelchair parking.... now, do it in the Magic Kingdom!:
The waiting area is fairly small:
The ceiling is too tall, as I said before. Italy we are not used to waste space like that. We build a second floor:
To conclude, my experience has been positive.
It's definitely worth visiting this new Pizzeria. You will love the Pizza and the overall atmosphere!
Thanks for the review! I think we may try this, as long as the wait is not too outrageous. There are somethings I like the look of on the menu. (I see they have pasta with Trapanese sauce--yum!)
ReplyDeleteFantastic I can't wait to try this new pizzeria!
