Disney increases Ticket price
Yes, once again. Disney is "adjusting" the cost of the Ticket price for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland resort.
Here's the news, from the Disney Parks Blog:
"We wanted to let you know today that ticket prices are being adjusted at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort this week. While the prices do reflect an increase, you can still find special values for California and Florida residents or through multi-day passes or seasonal and annual passes.
At Disneyland Resort, details about ticket prices are posted on a special page we’ve created on the Blog. The information will also be available at http://disneyland.disney.go.com/tickets/ on August 5, including details about our Southern California resident pass or the Disneyland annual pass.
And at Walt Disney World Resort we have the Magic Your Way ticket which offers a variety of options for you to customize your ticket purchase. The updated pricing is posted on the Blog and also will be added to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tickets-passes/.
The price changes will begin on August 5."
What? Again? Disney has increased its prices EVERY SINGLE YEAR during summer, for at least during the past 5 years!! That's not right, if you ask me. It's true, the difference is not that much, but if they continue like that, in 10 years the price of a one-day park ticket will be more than $100!!!
Here you are the new prices (for the Walt Disney World Resort ONLY!):
1 Day Ticket: ADULT (10+) - $79.00/day CHILD (3-9) - $68.00/day
2 Days Ticket: ADULT - $78.00/day CHILD - $66.50/day
3 Days Ticket: ADULT - $73.00/day CHILD - $62.33/day
4 Days Ticket: ADULT - $56.25/day CHILD - $48.00/day
5 Days Ticket: ADULT - $45.60/day CHILD - $39.00/day
6 Days Ticket: ADULT - $38.50/day CHILD - $33.00/day
7 Days Ticket: ADULT - $33.43/day CHILD - $28.71/day
8 Days Ticket: ADULT - $29.63/day CHILD - $25.50/day
9 Days Ticket: ADULT - $26.67/day CHILD - $23.00/day
10 Days Ticket: ADULT - $24.30/day CHILD - $21.00/day
What do you think?
Is the price increase JUSTIFIED by the fact that they're building new attractions, or is this another way to earn more... and that's all?
Here are my thoughts: I don't mind paying more money for something I perceive to be a premium product. I have noticed a decline in the quality of WDW in the past five years. Last year, the women's washrooms next to Morocco were filthy and was one toliet was blocked. Also, I'm tired of paying more money for things like attractions standing dormant and indifferent/surly CMs.
ReplyDeleteIt's frustrating for me. Going to WDW was been a part of my life since I was a child, and now it's part of my son's childhood. It's just not the same place anymore, and that's a bit sad. I want him to experience the WDW I did. :)
I agree with you! They have to build new and major rides if they want to increase the prices!!!
